Members were very generous last night at the Car club Xmas dinner for the Mental Health-Estrie Hugs campaign! If you wish to give, you can bring it directly to them, you have next week and then everything is off to give to the needy!!

We have officially launched the 2022-2023 HUGS for the homeless campaign. From November to March, we accept donations of NEW Hats, Underwear, Gloves, Socks, Scarves, and other warm articles of clothing which we donate to local shelters for people experiencing homelessness.
Items can be dropped off directly at our offices in the beige bins next to door #2 at 3355 College in Lennoxville, or let us do the shopping for you – all monetary gifts are used to purchase essentials. You can also call us to schedule an in-person drop-off of items or cheques. Please DO NOT leave cheques in the bins. Please make cheques payable to Mental Health Estrie and indicate HUGS on the memo line. Receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more.
Donations received before mid-December are prepared into gift bags for the holiday season. However, this is a winter campaign that runs until the end of March, as the cold weather does not stop at Christmas. Thank you for your continued support and help! As you know the needs for the HUGS campaign are still there this year!
If you wish to contribute again as you all know how to do it so well, here is what the Director of Mental Health Estrie shared with me,

The needs are much the same as in past years, for instance, a greater need for items for men, so neutral colours are always appreciated, and each year the shelter reminds us that they can never have enough socks. This year, the shelter shared that they have a particular need for gloves or mittens for men. They also expressed a need for coats for men. As you know, we ask for the HUGS items to be new, as they are a gift, and prepared into gift bags for the holiday season, however for coats, we would be grateful to accept gently used coats if any of your members wanted to pass any along.
