Meet Penny, a resilient and sweet pup who, despite facing challenging circumstances, never lost her loving spirit! 🐶❤️
When Penny entered ARPH, she was in poor physical condition with a matted coat, infections in both ears and eyes, and even a urinary tract infection. But Penny's shining personality was evident from day one, showing her appreciation and love for the care she received.

And now, we have some heartwarming news to share! Penny has found her forever home with a wonderful family, and she'll even have a furry sister to keep her company. 🏡🐕👨‍👩‍👧

This incredible journey is a testament to the power of love and compassion, and we're so grateful for our amazing foster homes and adopters who help bring stories like Penny's to life. 🤗💕

Penny, we wish you a life filled with happiness, love, and endless tail wags! 🐾❤️ Congratulations to Penny and her new family! 🎉🎊🎈May your days be filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures! 🐾🏡💖

A big shout of thanks to her rescue team. Great dogs are dying everywhere simply because they are homeless. Rosie ARPH #14478
We are reaching out to you on behalf of Rosie, a 10-month-old red merle Australian Shepherd, who is in urgent need of your support. Rosie was recently surrendered to Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline (ARPH) due to her owner's financial and personal health challenges.
Despite her circumstances, Rosie has shown incredible resilience and remains a loving and playful pup. However, she has been experiencing intermittent body tremors and rapid eye movements, which require further diagnostic testing and a potential treatment plan. We have already taken Rosie to Purdue University Small Animal Hospital for evaluation, but we have yet to determine a conclusive diagnosis.
To provide Rosie with the care she desperately needs, we are seeking donations to cover her medical expenses. The estimated cost for Rosie's diagnostic testing is $3,500. We understand that times are tough for everyone, but any contribution, regardless of the amount, will make a significant difference in Rosie's life.
Donating is easy. You can use the personal PayPal button provided on our website (link below) to make a secure online contribution. You do not need a PayPal account to donate; simply follow the link and enter your payment details.

Alternatively, if you prefer to send a donation by mail, please use the address:
ARPH - AUSSIE RESCUE & PLACEMENT HELPLINE, INC

Your generous donation will not only help give Rosie an opportunity for recovery but will also ensure that other ARPH dogs in need receive the necessary care and attention. Any funds received in excess of Rosie's expenses will be reserved for future cases requiring assistance.
Please consider making a contribution today to help Rosie receive the medical attention she deserves.
Your support means the world to Rosie and all of us at ARPH.

Meet Dixie!

Dixie is an adorable and affectionate 52-pound Black Tri female with a birthdate of 5/9/2021. She loves playing with toys, catching balls mid-air, and chasing after the resident Aussies. Dixie is house and crate trained and has polite eating manners eating right beside the other dogs. She is very busy monitoring everything most of the day, but she knows when it is bedtime and races to her crate knowing she will receive a treat. She sleeps all night without a peep. She has that typical lively Aussie personality: energetic, smart, and busy.

Dixie is very affectionate and doesn’t want to be left out of her turn of getting attention. Sometimes she must be reminded to wait until other dogs get their affection, but she is not in any way aggressive. She just doesn’t want to be left out. She likes to get affection and likes relaxing on the couch and putting her head in your lap.

In her prior home, Dixie lived with 2 young kids and surrendering owner said that “she followed them everywhere in the house.” She was crated for long hours – 15 hours a day and only went outside to potty since they did not have a fence or time to regularly exercise her. Dixie has mild bilateral hip dysplasia. Now with exercise and supplements, she is building muscle mass and so enjoying chasing and playing with the resident dogs. She is experiencing a whole big world now and is enjoying the excitement.

If you are an approved ARPH adopter with a current application on file, Dixie is looking for a committed, loving home with a supervised, physically fenced-in yard, where she can safely run and play. She needs regular moderate exercise and the adopter's vigilance to keep her weight within the 52-pound range. An experienced handler is required to help her feel safe and secure by providing guidance. Dixie is a sweet treat driven girl who really wants to please. She knows sit, down and wait and is working on other basic commands. The adopter’s commitment to obedience training to promote communication and bonding is an adoption requirement for all our younger dogs. Cats are an unknown, but she has not demonstrated any prey drive. Dixie is being fostered in Central Indiana.

If you're interested in adopting Dixie and providing her with the love and attention she deserves, please contact [email protected]. If you're not yet an approved ARPH adopter, please submit an adoption application at www.aussierescue.org. The ARPH Volunteers work hard to be responsive to potential adopters and Aussies in need, so please be patient as it may take several days or a week to hear back from them. Note that the Indiana/Illinois chapter receives only the applicants that live in their territory.

Emails cannot be considered until there is an adoption application on file.

Frank needs your help!
Join us in making a difference in Frank's life! As a three-month-old red merle puppy abandoned and left to wander the streets, Frank was lucky to be found and brought to safety by a good Samaritan who contacted Animal Control. Now, Frank is being fostered in the Central Indiana area and has been diagnosed with a PSS - Portosystemic Shunt which means his body cannot absorb nutrients and clean itself properly. However, there is hope for Frank, and he can live a normal life with surgery to repair the shunt. But, the treatment and surgery have put Frank's medical bills near $10,000. We at ARPH have always been grateful to our donors who care about special needs Aussies, and we are counting on your support to help Frank receive the care he needs. No matter how big or small, your donation will make a difference in Frank's life. You can donate via his personal PayPal button : http://aussierescue.org/Aussies-in-Need or by mailing in a contribution. Together, we can help Frank get back on his feet and enjoy a full, healthy life. Any donations exceeding Frank's expenses will be reserved for other ARPH dogs in need. Please join us in helping Frank today!

Up & Coming!
Dixie!

Dixie is a 53-pound Black Tri female with a birthdate of 5/9/2021. Surrendering owner had Dixie since she was an eight-week-old puppy. They sought ARPH’s help saying Dixie deserved a better life than they were able to offer with their current responsibilities. Dixie loves to retrieve balls and to play with toys. Dixie is house and crate trained. Stay tuned for more information as Dixie completes her vetting, we get to know her better and she becomes available for adoption. She is being fostered in South Central Indiana.

UPDATE - ADOPTED
Handsome boy Cooper visited with the groomer yesterday to get all spiffy before his neutering. He was a big hit and an all star at the groomer's and at the vet's office. Cooper wants to say hello to most everyone and is very free with his kisses. Cooper was even polite to the cat at the groomer's. He has a very mellow personality, especially for a 1 year old Aussie. We think he would be a good therapy dog candidate with the appropriate training, He loves to sniff while out on walks and has bouts of play activity.

Up & Coming!
Cooper

Ok they do not come any sweeter than this 1-year-old playful Red Merle boy! Cooper is being fostered in Central Indiana. What we know so far about Cooper is that he is ready and eager to learn and to please, he shows strong aptitude for nose work and possibly agility, he gets along extremely well with the resident dogs in his foster home, he does very well meeting strangers, he is very cooperative when being groomed, he thinks cats are for chasing, and he is about as loving as they come. Thanks to our volunteer crew who helped get Cooper out of the shelter and into ARPH! Stay tuned for more information once Cooper completes his vetting and becomes available for adoption.
