….here are a cpl strategies I use to not lose my health gains during a holiday:
-Yoga & water aerobics ✔️ (active morning)
-Breakfast buffet: starts with green detox juice & salads w/nuts, seeds then follow with eggs for more protein ✔️
-…now the rest of the day maybe went a little off script with fried calamari, laying around the pool/beach, a few drinks and collapsing in bed EARLY 🤪😇😅💤

It’s Saturday morning and I’m able it start the day slowly. 🫶
I’m reflecting on this past week as I write in my gratitude journal 📖,while doing so I looked at my fitness app and compared last week to this week.
Just look at these pics. This week ALL CLOSED CIRCLES!!! 🎉 (which shows I met my personal daily target for steps). The difference between last week and this week? One BIG factor was meeting up with 2 different friends to walk! 🚶
⭐️Pro health tip:
meet up with friends to DO SOMETHING ACTIVE! (we did have a morning coffee after -but w/o any added sugar 😇)
Still working through this book & really liking it so far. (just made it to chap 10)

I’m still slowly working through Atomic Habits with my husband, Steve. We are reading/listening separately & currently around Chap 4.
My takeaway has been in recognising & celebrating that the habits & routines I had been focusing on in 2023 have stuck and become a part of my identity because they were ‘small, incremental & sustainable changes’!

Steve and I are working through Atomic Habits by James Clear. Chapter 1 takeaway is looking at my ‘systems’ vs Goals. This is a mindset that has definitely helped me this past year to shape my daily habits & know how to tap into my inner strengths! I’ve called it ‘tools in my tool belt’ on my youtube channel. 😊💪 #2024

Spent 2 nights here to catch our breath. Not a bad place to do so. Only complaint is I had to wear a jacket in the evenings - in mid July!!!

So if you know me well, maybe you guessed it… this post is a reminder to 💦HYDRATE!!!!
My mom-in-law and I just had a conversation and she let me know she had been having a rough several days. Then she heard someone talking to folk her age, and reminding them the importance of keeping hydrated! Apparently, it’s a big issue in their age group- well I’d say ANY AGE GROUP! Especially when our go to drink isn’t 💧nice clean WATER.
…So I’m wishing all of you a healthy, happy summer - a sending out a reminder to not forget the BASICS! (I need this reminder, too!!!)
I know, I’ve gone off radar for far too long.
I went from starting the year saying ‘let’s make this our healthiest year ever’ to having a bout with shingles in Feb and a 7 day flu in April.
These have left me feeling spent! But I do know what to do for recovery! Do you?
And I can say that even though I had shingles, it was a mild case. (Oof, the stories I’ve heard of what that virus can do!) And the flu was just bad enough to zap my energy and keep me in bed. And likely a result of taking shingles prescription meds (I’ve since learned of other options that fit my lifestyle choices better).
The dr asked ‘Have you been under more stress lately?’ And I didn’t initially even think that I had! But after reflection while being laid up I did realise how many extra responsibilities I had taken on in the months leading up to this outbreak. I thought I was handling it— but my body disagreed…
So here’s my gentle reminder to you:

….and think 💭 getting a health coach, like me 😘.
I haven’t talked about this openly but I long since stopped using traditional menstrual products!
There’s no regulation or disclosure on what goes into making them ‘absorbent and door neutralising’. Putting them ‘down there’ our skin absorbs them into our system!!! No, no, nooo!!! Keep the toxins out of that area, please.
I do use: menstrual cup, ’cute’ cloth pads, organic cotton tampons when needed.
Do some reading and make your choice. Spread the word sisters!!! 🙌

It’s Monday morning. I’m on the ferry doing some breathing exercises.
After a week off of work and sleeping in (a lot) -I set my alarms ⏰, prepped breakfast, clothes ready ✅
Alarm goes off…I snuggle with dogs, put in the heater to warm the bathroom…. Wait! What? I set the alarm to wake Ethan! And NOT my alarm to get myself ready! FAILED 😣 IT!!!!
So now I’m on the later ferry. Ethan was ready on time and out the door. 😅 but I’m making up for lost time and grabbing a taxi 🚖 to school today!!!
