Our aim is to make the Caraboo Neighbourhood (BS3) a pleasant and enjoyable place to live in and visit.

Many of you will have noticed a significant improvement at the burial ground since our last message. Our thanks go to Council Parks staff who cleared the main paths and areas around the benches this week. Please note that Saturday’s planned tidy up won’t be going ahead. The brambles bordering the walls will need cutting back, which will take place after September once the nesting period is over. We will post about that and any other events here as usual, but meanwhile please enjoy this wonderful space.

For ten weeks in 1817 Mary Baker, a cobbler’s daughter from Devon convinced the great and good of Bristol that she was Princess Caraboo, daughter of the King of Javasu. Ten years later she returned to the city to live in Bedminster and earn her living doing something very different. She is buried in Hebron Burial Ground, a stone's throw from the Pocket Park.

Find out more about her remarkable story at this Show of Strength production at the Pocket Park, March 25th - 27th. Free tickets on sale from 2pm on Monday 14th March from: https://showofstrength.org.uk/productions/princess-caraboo-bedminsters-impostor
