Sometimes as a business you endeavor to accomplish everything in house, but it could also work against you. The work can be spread to thinly, the projects may not be of quality work and maybe that YouTube tutorial just isn't making much sense (plus time wasted is money lost).

One of my first projects I worked on was a Look book. A type of book brochure where a fashion brand would promote their next seasons collection, it may have details of each clothing item like name, colour and costs.

This Look book was for a local Perth brand 'Red O***m' by Sandra Rives. I had beautiful imagery to work with and aesthetics to compliment the designs. There were two in total I created, swipe to see some snippets. 👗

So I decided to choose a Pantone for the season, maybe it'll become a thing I do?

Strolling around town I captured what I feel is the Pantone of the season (we're in end of July here so in Australia Winter in Sydney) It's a colour I often saw, the deep greens and some browns as the leaves loose their colours....

As a business I want to portray the values that I resonate with and I believe in. When you build your values they should always be consistent in the service you produce to your audience. If quality is a value for you, your product or service should always be of good quality... Some values may change as you develop and grow your company and values should be checked against what you're selling/providing.

These are some good top line things to keep in mind when you're creating your brand. A strong logo, simple yet affective. Simple colours, too many contradictory colours can lose the brand. Resonates with the customer, will your target audience get it?

🟢🟠 Colour palette example 🟢🟠

Diving into wellness, a hot topic lately when health is priority for everyone, and a lot of wellness brands are coming out. Noticing they are drawing on bold vibrant colours, I decided, why not go back to the roots?

A green for nature/natural/health and an orange injected into it for the boldness but to also balance out. For my example, I quickly did a mock up, and felt these colours drew on some raw detailing....

The sketch design of the logo and colouring outside of the lines, set on the natural card stock. I felt gave that raw, wellness, down to earth look.
