Endodontists do more than perform root canals! Endodontists like our doctors will also help treat a cracked tooth. There are many different types of cracked teeth, and the treatment and outcome for your tooth depend on the type, location, and extent of the crack. Extensive cracks can eventually lead to infection of the pulp tissue, which can spread to the bone and gum surrounding the tooth. That’s why it’s so important to make an appointment at Endodontics, PC if you have any teeth sensitivity!

How do endodontists know which tooth is infected? When you come in for your appointment at Endodontics, PC, we will visually inspect the oral cavity for signs of infection, such as swelling, redness, or pus around the affected tooth. Our team also uses X-rays and other imaging techniques to view the internal structures of the tooth and surrounding tissues, which helps us to identify any infection, abscesses, or other abnormalities. If you are experiencing tooth pain, don’t hesitate to call us today! 📲 Canton: 734-981-8000 | Dearborn: 313-565-9118 | Monroe: 734-241-2044 | Wyandotte: 734-283-0707
When you need a root canal, the inner part of the tooth, known as the pulp, is typically infected or inflamed. The pulp chamber and root canals within the tooth contain nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. If bacteria infiltrate this area due to deep decay, trauma, or other factors, it can lead to infection or inflammation. Root canal treatment removes the infected or damaged pulp and alleviates symptoms.
Our main goal at Endodontics, PC is to make sure you feel comfortable while you’re in the dental chair. From our friendly team to our state-of-the-art facilities, we strive to create a welcoming environment for your dental care. Your smile and satisfaction are our top priorities! 😊
Endodontists like our teammates at Endodontics, PC are experts in preserving your natural smile. While all endodontists are dentists, less than three percent of dentists are endodontists. Endodontists undergo an additional two or more years of training beyond dental school that focuses on diagnosing tooth pain and performing procedures such as root canal treatment that target the interior of the tooth. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!

Let’s hear it for the rubber dam! 🙌 The rubber dam, also known as a dental dam, is a simple tool that has an important role in your root canal procedure. Not only does it enhance visual contrast for our doctors to access the tooth during surgery, but it also prevents microbial contamination from the oral cavity. It prevents you from swallowing water and debris during your procedure, and keeps the treatment area dry.
¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Endodontics, PC wishes you all a happy Cinco de Mayo!
The biggest piece of advice from Endodontics, PC? Don't get a tooth pulled because you think it’s easier or more cost-effective.
The major advantage of a root canal is that it preserves the existing natural tooth and avoids extensive and costly restorative treatment (such as a bridge or implant) to replace it. Tooth extraction often is more painful than the infection itself, and replacing an extracted tooth with a dental implant requires additional dental visits that can quickly add up. And remember: nothing looks, feels or functions like your natural tooth! 🦷

When you undergo a root canal, here's what happens: the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Afterward, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection and will continue to function like any other tooth.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you should contact Endodontics, PC to set up an appointment. You may need a root canal, and we can help!
