Recap hats are one of a kind. Each hat is made different through the use of old clothes and hand car The hats began to sell and more were made.
Recaps started almost 8 years ago in the attic of an old house in Silverton, Colorado. The goal was to create cool funky hats out of old clothing, making a product that was not only locally and handmade, but also 100% recycled and unique. The production happened before skiing, after climbing, in between river trips and international travel. After Recaps relocated to Durango, CO the Mini Brim truck
er hat was born. While trying to reduce the amount of scraps thrown away, the idea came about to carve lino blocks and print images on the scraps. This drastically reduced the amount of material accumulating in trash. The brims on the trucker hats were cut down, to follow the style of the original Recap. The prints were applied to the front of the hat, then thread for the brim trim was matched to the print, and taaa daaaa: the Mini Brim Trucker Recap was created. The images on the Mini Brim Tuckers hats are inspired by the rivers, the mountains, and the nature that we all love to play in everyday.
