Twenty-six years ago, Petty embarked on a new chapter, relocating to America to pursue her education. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Business from East Tennessee State University, she ventured into the corporate world, but her heart always remained with basket weaving.

Fueled by a love for travel and a desire to share her heritage with the world, Petty made the bold decision to turn her passion into a career. Teaming up with her mother, who joined her in America, they formed a dynamic duo, bringing their exquisite, one-of-a-kind hand-woven baskets to eager customers across different states and cities.

🎨✨ Award of Distinction for Ken Orton! 🏆

We are thrilled to announce that Ken Orton, a distinguished artist with a remarkable journey, has been honored with an Award of Distinction. 🌟

Born in Birmingham, England in January 1951, Ken's artistic journey began with his education at Birmingham and Manchester Colleges of Art in the late 1960s and early 1970s. His passion for art led him to teach at the Moseley School of Art in his hometown before embarking on an adventurous move to Spain in 1979.

For two decades, from 1979 to 1999, Ken played a pivotal role as the head of the Centre de Arte Joan Miro at the Baleares International School in Palma de Mallorca, leaving an indelible mark on the artistic community there.

In 1999, Ken embarked on a new chapter, relocating to the United States, where he now divides his time between the serene landscapes of the Catskill Mountains in New York and the picturesque Gulf Coast of Florida.

Everyday after school she was helping out in her families antique store and friends manufacturing business. After completing a liberal arts degree at University of Maryland she attended the accredited Gemological Institute of America. It was at GIA that the prospect of a career in the jewelry industry became a reality.
After working almost a decade in the auction world she was inspired by a stunning window display in New York City. It was at this moment she decided on a career change to jewelry design.

A self taught jeweler Smashing Jewels by Candace Marsella became a reality in 2004. The inspiration for Smashing Jewels emanates from a passion where science and design intersect. Combining a tradition Gemological education with an estate jewelry background she has tailored her line of jewelry to capture both worlds.

Each piece is designed with the finest quality stones hand worked and fabricated using wire working techniques and bench work skills in sterling silver and 14kt gold filled materials. Her aesthetic highlights the natural beauty of a stone while creating a timeless wearable look.
