The Christmas baby has his toes out!! 🥰☀️
A year ago today I found out you were going to be coming into this world wee Oban 💙… yes, on April Fools Day - couldn’t bloody write it 🙈🤣
I love Tesco lounge wear and these trousers that I bought for comfort in 3rd trimester still going strong postpartum - these pics are March 24 and Nov 23 😅 ps. I’m absolutely obsessed with my shape wear I kept seeing videos of people wearing it and I didn’t believe it would work and I bought 4 pieces and I actually love them so if you’re looking for shape wear that is my recommendation! P.p.s. I didn’t think I looked THAT pregnant in the second pic… hahahaha 🤪
And just like that… Oban G is 3 months old, and it’s time for mummy to get back on air! Back tomorrow morning on Saturday breakfast 6-9am across Scotland 🏴 on 📻 be kind in case I’ve forgotten how to speak or work the technical stuff 💁🏽♀️🫠🤣 I will blame baby brain forever! I’ll be back on the Late Show just for Sundays for a wee while and I’ll update you when I’m back fully through the week! But weekends, let’s do this 💪🏼!! Making money for my wee Oban to have the best wardrobe… when in reality I really need a new bra 🤣 come hang tomorrow! ❤️🥰
If we can just ignore the mess of the man cave and appreciate the effort that was made for Fridays night out thank you 🫠🖤 must use nursery mirror for pics next time… 🤣 it was Oban’s first overnight and it was a success!! 🥂
Happy 50th, Clyde 1! 🥂
A 2 hour walk around Loch Morlich 😅 you best believe the calories burned have now been consumed once again in the form of pizza, cider and dream rings 🥯🍕📍
Baby’s first brunch! 🩷
He’s thinking “I recognise the sounds of this place!” 😅 The last time he was here he was kicking inside my tummy to the tunes!!!
I want Michelle’s Moo Music’s neon butterfly wings! 🦋😍🪄🫶🏼 Oban loved them… so magical today at Valentine’s Moo!! These wings were just a sensory wonderland! 🩷✨
Taking these new curves for a night out last week 🥂
It really doesn’t matter how many people say “just be grateful your body gave you Oban”… I know that. And I know it’s a long journey, but getting used to seeing these new shapes in the mirror doesn’t get any easier 😅🙈
I’ll be honest I feel totally lost with what to wear at the moment as nothing seems to fit or suit, but at least this wasn’t maternity leggings and a jumper, you have more pics of this dress.
We all have our moments mamas but we are all doing the best we can and getting there one step at a time 💪🏼🥰
Thank you to the wonderful for capturing my Oban at 3 weeks 🤍 this shoot was reorganised twice because of his late arrival 😂, it was new year, I was 21 days post-section, not feeling great, still finding my feet, had to cut the shoot short and Oban never slept aside from about 10 mins where the girls still managed to get amazing sleepy shots (as well as some wide awake ones in typical OG fashion!), and I am so grateful for these friendly, accommodating wonderful women who make you feel so comfortable in the studio 🎥 they are so wonderful with newborn babies too, just like nanny’s thatI would like to hire 😭🤍 memories to have forever (and yes I will probably hang these pics in my hall) x
Mam glam 🕺🏾✨
It was Callum’s birthday today and I never posted these pics from his 30th last year of me being skinny before spending 10/12 months of 2023 preggo. So here they are, a whole 365 days later, a skinny version of me ready for a dinner at Scott’s, while right now I sit pale as a sheet with baby sick on my jumper, p*e on my leggings and a million bottles to sterilise, but I guess I wouldn’t change it - how life flows!! 🫶🏼
Postpartum ain’t always a walk in the park (or round the loch…) 👶🏻 and I want to highlight that as I’m conscious I may have made it look easier than it has been. I like to use my Instagram as a positive space with life highlights. However, let me share this…
is…
1. Lovely moments with your little burrito out a walk, but also…
2. Disposable pants. Or massive maternity pads. Or both. And shill having a bump when you come home from hospital.
3. Crying A LOT. The emotions! Holy hell the emotions! Crying about everything from birth to your new baby, and everything in between! Especially the first week, I cried ALL the time. And that’s ok.
4. Swollen. Ankles.
5. Never really getting to eat and if you’re lucky enough to get a slice of toast between burping your baby, it will be cold.
6. Not getting a shower or breakfast, being exhausted and crying because you miss your old life sometimes (and as much as the little miracle you have is amazing, these thoughts are also ok… you were you before you were mum and this is all new).
7. Still looking pregnant and thinking you will look like this your whole life and wondering if you’ll ever wear a thong again 🤣
8. The witching hours. When even the baby sling doesn’t work.
9. The battle between letting them sleep on you and putting them down because waking the beast is a terrifying thought as they are so angelic when they sleep and you want to enjoy the cuddles, then feel guilty that the housework isn’t done. But feel equally guilty when you put them down and they cry.
10. Breast pads. This photo was not PC enough for the gram 😂 … But for the first while, breast pads. All the time!
I don’t want any other mums - section or vaginal births - to feel like they are alone or comparing themselves to others (because I’ve been there too!), and equally anyone who’s expecting to be anxious, but this is life and I guess you can always take what you see on Instagram with a pinch of salt… as my beach walks and loch walks I posted about scunnered me and I’ve been in a lot of pain during recovery. I’m feeling so much better now and if you’re caught in this weird bubble, it will get better ❤️🩹🌅
The OG 🤍🥹
I will never forget this sunset walk 🌅🧡 Oban’s first trip to the beach on a bitter cold January afternoon testing out our new Cudl baby carrier, we had spotted this in months ago when Oban was just a little kicking t***s growing inside me, and it turns out he is a baby who just loves to be close to us, carried around the house in a sling and now he can be close to us out on walks too 🫶🏼 and we can be hands free (although major bonus in the winter, the baby carrier keeps your hands so cosy!!) ❄️ this is not only a game changer for being out and about with the baby and the dog, but also for in the house too for getting things done, as it’s so easy to get on and off with the magnetic clips! Loving it ❤️❤️ (gifted item)
New Year’s Eve looks very different for me this year but I wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰 (well maybe we would have callum here but he’s a gigging machine at this time of year!), it’s a long lie for daddy and an all nighter for mummy - but not in the usual Hogmanay way although I bet I’ll feel just as rough in the morning 🤣🤍 happy new year to you when it comes, 2023 has been the year of growing my Oban ✨
NYE is a time for nostalgia and today, on Hogmanay, Clyde 1 turns 50 🌟
Clyde 1 is a station I have listened to since I was a little t***s and I am extremely proud to have been just a small part of that first 50 years. There have been bungee jumps, Christmas light switch ons, dressing up in ridiculous costumes, fun outside broadcasts, sausage Fridays, cooking bacon on the engine of a pool car and breaking it… and so much more 😂.
From an extremely keen 18 year old making tea and dropping off competition winners prizes, to the kool ride 2 school with crazy kids on the bonkers bus every day, to 6 years with my then-sidekick Grant on the Homerun checking out the roads around Glasgow and the west with the world longest travel bulletins (that always mentioned a local McDonald’s!) and now back with my radio fam not only having the privilege of presenting The Late Show and Saturday Breakfast on Clyde 1, but all over Scotland on our wonderful stations. I am so so lucky. Find a job that makes you say “I GET to do that!” Instead of “I’ve GOT to do that”. It’s the best thing you’ll ever do! Grateful everyday.
I have nothing but love for this station and the teams I have had the pleasure of working with in the past and today. The team on air and behind the scenes making the magic work truly are absolutely incredible ❤️
Clyde 1 - here’s to the next 50!! Love you! 🥂
He’s my little Christmas cracker 🎁
All the small wins ❤️. We managed out last night for some Christmas shopping at 🫶🏼. You know this anyway, but life isn’t all you see on Instagram, the past week I’ve found difficult adjusting to newborn life whilst recovering from an unexpected caesarean section and there is so much I won’t share on here, but after mentioning my birth briefly on stories I’ve had some lovely messages, so if anyone has c-section recovery tips let me know as the community on here is just wonderful and so supportive ❤️🩹 and it will not only help me (who by the way, before this, would faint getting bloods done!) but others too. Focussing on the step in front of me instead of the whole staircase is my aim just now, and it was lovely to get out into the fresh air with my equally as fresh pram, just love pushing my wee Oban around in it 😍 - oh and the trainers are the only shoes I can get on right now… postpartum ankle swelling is real over here 👋🏼
My wee Oban G 🩵 can’t thank Leighanne enough for all of her help (and amazing continued support 🥰🫶🏼)
Despite today being about -10°C, the sea was so lovely, calm and still… I was tempted to jump in 🌊🤣❄️🥶
Happy Sunday 🤍
I think Callum will agree that a visit from The Doula and Baby Service for us as first time parents was super helpful! Putting this on to help any new parents with confidence, thank you Antonia for your time ❤️
Me last week: really need some time off before baby, sore and tired, going to finish up on Sunday.
Me today: not had a baby yet, want to go to work. What wall can I climb next 😅
••••••••
Thank you for putting up with baby chat for the past few months, and thank you for the beautiful messages over the weekend, going to miss you! But it’s not for too long… I’ll hopefully see you in the springtime 🥰💗
Lovely Lynne is looking after things for me for just now.
And here’s a camera roll dump of April - November through the highs and lows of being preggo on Lates and early Saturday mornings 😂 oh how I’ll miss it the next few months… but something tells me this isn’t a holiday and I’ll be pretty occupied??? 😅🤣
Thank you lovely lot! ❤️ hopefully some baby news in the next wee while, I’m going to try and enjoy folding baby gros again and again as I’m in full nesting mode! 🪺 👶🏼 xx
8 weeks vs 38 weeks… a lot less sickness and a lot more BABY!! 🙈🤣
Must stop smuggling disco balls/pumpkins/space hoppers 🪩🤪✨ fab night at the thank you for hosting can’t wait to try the vodka on the flip side 🤣🥂 a night celebrating diverse, unique, creative and influential talent in the iconic Barrowland Ballroom 🪩😮💨🏴
Happy Halloween! ❤️ this year I’ve not made an effort with my house (aside from burning a Pumpkin Spiced candle obv!) and we work through guisers coming, but Halloweekend made up for it at the x 😍 thanks for the best last gig of the year ❤️❤️ hope you’ve all had a lovely Halloween!!!!
