One Day in Montreal: country singer Justine Blanchet The country songstress shares her favourite food and drink spots in Montreal, QC

Two years ago today, I set out to explore Nashville and see what it had to offer. I had originally planned to be there for two months but it turned into four months. I ended up starting the recording of my EP.

Today, said EP is out and I’m waiting on a visa so I can go earn a living in Music City. This journey keeps me on my toes and continues to keep things interesting. I’m looking forward to what the next two years will bring.

Haircuts are cheaper than therapy 💇‍♀️

I’m not one to get vulnerable on social media. In fact, I don’t even remember if I ever have.

It’s easy to post about success or the latest wins.

I firmly believe that posting my music and life on social media has to also show the less glamorous parts of my life. I’m just as human as the next person.

Even through the latest exciting things that have been happening, this summer has been one of the most challenging summers of my life. Countless trials that turn into lessons and countless moments of doubt.

That’s the reality of being 21 and trying to live out my dream.

Through all of the doubt and questioning whether I’m doing the right thing, one thing has always been a good reminder for me to lean on. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

It’s easy to read that passage and not fully understand it. Trust me I know. I’m not done facing trials and battles but one thing is for sure: God’s got this.

Every trial is meant to better equip us for the next one. We wouldn’t be really living if we never faced trials or challenges, now would we?
