My Story

As i started to approach adulthood i had to find myself and figure out what i was meant to do. I met my now husband and he had 3 children. A 4 year old boy,A 2 year old girl,and a 8 month old baby girl who was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus with a shunt. well fast forward a bit and every year on their birthdays we would order a cake from various stores and all of them would mess the cakes up or wouldnt have them made when we arrive for pick up. We ended up having a lil baby girl together and i got the idea of starting to bake the cakes for their birthdays myself. i knew some of the basics for baking because my mom and aunt Sue would bake with me as a kid. so i started baking their cakes and yes they looked funny the first few but i fell in love with baking and decorating cakes. I gave myself 1 year to learn how to do my wedding cake and make sugar flowers and i did. I love baking,its who i am. when someone is sad i want to bake them something,when they get good news i want to bake to celebrate.. I am all self taught. I watch videos and read all kinds of things,either books or from google. I am considered a home baker because i didnt go to school for it because it cost too much for that. so i bake from home and i can still take care of my girls and any medical needs my step daughter has. plus i learn differently then some and dont do so bad teaching myself. One thing i love about being self taught is the feeling of satisfaction that i did this myself, i taught myself how to bake this. It makes you feel good all the way to the soul. I love showing my girls that no matter what you can achieve your goals if you try hard enough.. every day is a struggle for me learning this way but in the end its the best feeling ever..
