Poverty is an economic and moral issue that threatens social justice and quality of life in Lancaster City and across our nation. Our community is taking a stand against this epidemic that is impacting our vulnerable neighbors. The Mayor's Commission to Combat Poverty will engage the community to increase the local understanding of poverty and undergo a problem solving process to make Lancaster Ci
ty a better place for all. The Mayor's Commission to Combat Poverty includes 12 appointed members from all throughout Lancaster County. These individuals, as well as many others, are coming together to create a strategic plan to put an end to poverty in Lancaster, pa. In order to create a successful strategic plan, the Commission has taken the time to conduct necessary research, initiate community conversations and hold public hearings all throughout Lancaster County to get our neighbor's perspectives on poverty and what the Commission could do to help. With the ongoing help from the community and commitment from the Commission, we will combat poverty.
