Twisted Spiders Twisted Spiders has taken something that is often perceived as ugly, creepy and frightening and "twisted" it into something that is beautiful, elegant and alluring. We attempt to capture this in every one of our creations.

As we look to the coming new year, this video of our very own Thomas and Abigail, as the mermaid Princess Jurien reminds us that not knowing how it will all play out is a gift.

Who wants to see a sneak peek of some of the beads I’ll be turning into spiders to bring with me to the Arizona Renaissance Festival?
Meet Russian glass artist, Elena Avinskaya! I’ve been following her for a while and have finally acquired some of her glass dragon’s eye beads. They are other-worldly. I only have a handful to work with, but I am loving how they’re turning out!

Happy Christmas everyone! Spidermom here. Let’s talk traditions. Are you known for something among your family or friends when it comes to holiday traditions? Do you make the fruitcake? Certain must have Christmas cookies? Go Christmas caroling? Watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” together or “Elf”?
For years now, I’ve made batches of my Cashew English Toffee and gifted it, shared it, brought it to potlucks, parties, gatherings, charitable events etc. My toffee making season starts in November during my time in North Carolina. I gift small spider cups full to my friends at the festival on final weekend. I continue making it through the holidays and almost always have it on hand to gift away. It’s become a bit of a thing, and Christmas wouldn’t be the same without it.
So that’s mine. What’s yours? I’d love to hear some of your family’s holiday traditions. Sincere thanks for being here and spending a slice of time with us today. I hope you have a most enjoyable day, whatever you do or however you celebrate.

As the holiday season gets underway and folks are hanging their Christmas spiders on their trees, I thought I’d share this picture I took this summer at the Bristol Renaissance Faire of the legend of the Christmas spider, burned on a plaque and gifted to me by my friend and booth neighbor in Carolina, Kathy. I love the way the shadows of my spiders dance atop the tale.

We have received a new batch of Dragons Eye beads from the very talented and lovely lampwork glass artist Oksana Petrenko, of Ukraine 🇺🇦
We have listed the beads in our auction group as commissions on a first come first serve basis. Whatever is leftover will be made for the website and future festivals.
