Something different this week. Wednesday afternoon I will be at Farm Fresh in Graham - FFIG! I'll have a variety of things - some bowl cozies, some grippers, some bottle lights, some floor turtle spot mops, some coasters, etc.... AND I will have Sparkle Cat Rescue catnip toys and pet beds with me. If your furbaby loves our toys and you haven't been able to get to one of the shops that carries them, stop on by! Lots of local fresh fruit, veggies, meat etc. It's small business week... come on out!

We are planning a Craft Fair and Raffle Fundraiser for June 9 and we need a few more craft vendors.

INDOOR EVENT

When: June 9, 12 – 4 PM

Where: / NICHE SUITES, 1061 S 3rd St, Mebane, NC

What: Craft vendors, baked goods, and raffle baskets

Why: Because it’s fun and Sparkle Cat Rescue needs funds to care for all the kitties!

Interested vendors:

—Fill out the online application via JotForm : https://form.jotform.com/241185531427050 (link in IG bio) no later than May 8th. Applications will be reviewed by the committee and chosen applicants will be notified by May 12.

—6 ft tables and chairs will be provided.
—Event fee is $20 due by May 26th. Fees go directly to Sparkle Cat Rescue.
—Vendors will be asked to donate a minimum of 15% of their sales from the event to the Rescue.
—Applications from vendors not chosen for this event will be retained for consideration for future events.

Business owners:

We are planning a raffle to go along with this event. In addition to themed baskets, we hope to have gift cards and/or merchandise to raffle from local businesses. If you would like to donate either merchandise or a gift card, please contact us at [email protected]

Fabric projects produce fabric scraps! And I hate waste! So once every few weeks, I have a scrap day when everything made must be from leftovers! Today’s scrap day resulted in a batch of new “un-sponges”! Why does one need unsponges? Regular sponges harbor all sorts of nasty stuff, and when they do bite the dust it takes ages for them to decompose in the landfill. Unsponges are made from washable fabric and batting. One side is pretty, one side has an overlay of lightweight tulle for some scrubbing help. And they can just be thrown in the washer and dryer with your kitchen towels! Here is part of today’s scrap reduction project!!

I usually try to be fairly practical when selecting fabric, keeping audience and purpose in mind. But once in a while, something just amuses me too much to pass it by! Who can’t love a chameleon hiding amongst watermelons??

There are still a few inked eggs left at A Quiet Life Handmades if you need a bit of additional color in your Easter Basket.

For those of you who follow Carolina Color Creations, be aware there is a name change in the works!!! The new name is meant to 1) reflect a more diverse assortment of handmade items, and 2) it plays homage to my mom, whose name is Lillie and back in the day, we joked our home was the Lilypad!!!

Special request! CatsFirst does so much to help Sparkle Cat Rescue with vaccinations/combo testing, and spay/neuter of Sparkle kitties, we'd like to ask if you can help them now! They are in need of dry food and canned food for cats who get fixed through the clinic and are recovering from spay/neuter, AND for colonies their independent trappers are feeding. Some trappers manage 3+ colonies. Please help if you can.

Please note that CatsFirst primarily works with a number of their own independent trappers and they are NOT open to the public for vet care of any kind.

You can ship or drop off bags directly at the door of CatsFirst at 216-A West Main Street Gibsonville 27249 OR drop off at any of our own drop off sites and we will deliver the food/supplies that are on their wish list IF you mark it 'CatsFirst'.

Sparkle Cat Rescue's drop off sites (reminder - be sure to note if it is explicitly for CatsFirst. And FYI, Sparkle Cat Rescue always donates any food to CatsFirst we don't normally feed our fosters.
