Every single year, the mum I have lets me know she remembers the mum I lost. I always find my emotions a little less manageable this time of year. I erupt a little quicker, I feel a little less connected, and I don’t generally want to think about anything but it being over. And then flowers arrive. Every: Single .Year. And every time I remember how lucky I am to have her. So though she won’t see this, you all need to know that I have a fantastic stepmum and I wouldn’t be who I am without her!

She also taught me how to make a roast, and I make the best so there’s that too!

Krakow? I think you mean KrakWoW! Obviously I can’t go anywhere without buying artwork and Poland is absolutely no exception. We stumbled across the incredible filled with stunning posters from old movies and film festivals - so fun for my past life in theatrical, and run by SUCH a lovely couple. And THEN, we stumbled upon stunning canvases on the old city walls! It’s frankly extremely fortunate that we flew Ryanair and didn’t have space in our teeny bags for more because I don’t have the wall space for these as it is 😂!

For being so obsessed with dark interiors, I can’t get enough of the colour in Bear’s room 🧡!Incidentally 🍑 Peach Fuzz 🍑 was Pantone’s colour of the year for 2024 and we’d already done it! Mr B was very happy because he thinks that means I won’t be getting the paint brushes back out for a good while. Maybe 2025’s colour will be called “Naivety”? 😂

Got the old sofa temporarily in the kitchen before it heads to the office tomorrow, and the novelty factor is strong. Can’t get them off it! I don’t want a sofa in my kitchen but I’ve got to say, I’m kind of enjoying the novelty too.

So one thing I didn’t know about Istanbul; it’s riddled with amazing junk shops! I expected the Grand Bazaar, but had serendipitously also managed to book accommodation smack in the middle of treasure troves! Thanks to hand luggage I was unable to go mad, but scroll through to see what I picked up. Special mention to the figurine whose generous appendage I only noticed after purchase 😂!

Amazing breakfast at .cafe this morning. Turkish coffee, baklava, and chocolate cake - very greedy and oh so satisfying!

This little guy!! I love him so much! I spotted him in the Souk in Marrakesh and knew he was mine, the way I knew about my *actual* cat when I first saw him! After a haggling failure I slunk away, but couldn’t stop thinking about him for the rest of our trip. Fortunately I managed to persuade some of my crew to head back with me for what turned in to an essential trolley dash around the market to track him down! I think he’s kind of a guardian of the house now and is firmly in one of my top 10 items!

Look what I found on FaceBay and subsequently ruined my patient husband’s relaxing day with!!! Long term this will be painted black and become my bathroom vanity. However, given that the bathroom remodel is likely a couple of years away, I had to make Mr B move all the furniture around to find a suitable place for it now! He’s a good egg.

Feeling very smug and ahead of the game with almost all the gifts bought and wrapped! Mostly because I don’t have a tree skirt and don’t want to see the rubbish stand so I have to get my shizz together!

Hip Hooray! It’s Black Cat Day! created Black Cat Day to help the black and black and white cats that statistically took longer to home. That campaign was brilliantly successful but the celebration remains 🖤

This is Daphne. She’s a legend! Shouty, fiercely independent and passionately loving, it doesn’t matter if a cuddle is not convenient. If she wants one, it’s happening and you’d better get on board!

A 5 minute dash around a local vintage market and OF COURSE I zeroed in on the cat picture. Mr B was significantly less keen than me but wore his resigned face because he knew I left all my cat resistant willpower behind in the souks of Marakech 🤷‍♀️🐈

Leaving on the only cloud we’ve had, and that’s the end of the Summer! Morocco was a great way to wrap it up and we’ll miss the lovely lovely people who made us feel so special. Thank you .tk05 and Tariq. I don’t want to go back to having to organise myself next week 😩

Well it’s been a difficult stretch just hanging out by the pool and having people bring me Gin Fizzes but today I made it to the souk. Could have spent a few more hours and a lot more Dirham, but I did come away with quite a few treats! (And it took everything in me not to cuddle every kitty I saw!)

This popped up in my memories this week! That time I had such a fun photoshoot with . If you don’t know her amazing textiles already go and check her out. She makes gorgeous homewares and the velvet cushions are SO strokey! She also recently met the King so she’s basically royal now 👸

Well that was a long and frustrating week. You’ll find me here for the weekend! In other news, loving my plaster hand from (such a brilliant store by the way) that I bought last month. I have meant to make one of these for absolute years but never got myself together. This is a much better effort than I could ever have made and I absolutely LOVE it!

A little take away from our Bahamian trip. Our favourite spot for sunburnt drinks played the most fabulous music: 50’s Rock & Roll and rock-ability covers of modern classics. Shazam worked its little socks offs and as a result I discovered Scott Bradlee’s Post Modern Jukebox (which actually you all know too via the Christmas’22 John Lewis ad!). I’ve got myself a little record player and you’ll now find me, with cocktail, extolling the virtues of vinyl like I have any idea what I’m talking about!

I’ve found The Bar! pretty much articulated how I want to live my life! Eclectic styles and beautiful accessories, literary references, snarky witticisms, and of course, someone bringing me cocktails!

My folks got married at Langtry Manor many moons ago. So an accidental visit to was appropriate. Let me tell you, if I could have squirrelled away things in a bag, I would have! What a ruddy delightful place to drink pretty cocktails and be fancy!

This cat is absolute Di****ad! Not 5 seconds after the case came out did he get in it in protest. After being forced to move he stropped off and climbed a tree to sulk. Bruce does not climb trees. Bruce got stuck. Because Bruce is a total idiot.

Fortunately his sister is not and alerted us. So I’m now covered in sap, twigs and scratches and he is recovering from his ordeal with some . Stupid cat!
