☀️ The most emotional private vows, hot hot sun, beautiful gardens, cold beer and the sweetest couple = July 19, 2024 🌸🌹

Cass & Tyler are high school sweethearts and said their I dos yesterday at the beautiful Reader Rock Garden surrounded by their closest people 💞 Although it was 34 degrees these 2 trooped on thru their private first look, private vows and portraits. After portraits, we needed to take a break from the heat so we head over to where they took care of us with a cold cold beer and delish guac and chips🤌🏻🙌🏼
Once we felt refreshed we head back to the garden for their ceremony in the glorious shade of the trees 🌴 There were tears. There were laughs. There was love 💞
After the ceremony we went over to for cocktail hour and supper. Case had her little students make little love notes that she hung on the wall 🥹🥹 so so sweet

“Look daddy! Those people are getting marrying!”- a random cutie little girl biking past the ceremony site

Where do I even begin!!

I’ve known Megan now for a few years! We both started our nursing careers at the same rural hospital and have some fond memories of working together 😂 (c the last photos from 2021😂)

Today she became a wife to her bff and I couldn’t be any happier for her!
July 18, 2024 in the windy Rocky Mountains Scott and Megan said their “I dos” surrounded by their families.

A couple of things stood out to me at this wedding that I hadn’t seen before!
1. Megans dress was a surprise for Scott (pretty typical) but Scott’s suit was also a surprise for Megan!
2. A first dance right after the ceremony! I LOVED THIS! All ur ceremony guests r still there and u have a BEAUTIFUL backdrop to dance in front of!
3. Instead of an engraving in Scott’s ring, Megan surprised Scott with their birthstones on the inside and showed him during their private vows!

I LOOOVE when I c new things! There’s no rule to how ur wedding day should pan out! So do what YOU want! 💞💞💞

A hot and sunny day for Jill & John’s wedding yesterday in Fernie!! ☀️
I started off the day with the boys - John gave his groomsmen some gifts and then finished getting ready. After that I head over to the girlies where they were just finishing up makeup and about to get ready! Mom helped button up Jill’s dress while she watched her guests line up for the chairlift from the window😊
After we’re all ready we went for a first look and private vows. As soon as I started setting John up for first look he said “I didn’t think I was gonna cry but I think I might” …..and he did 😍 he saw Jill and couldn’t hold back 🤌🏻🤌🏻
Going up to the ceremony spot on the chair lift we saw a young bear just roaming around! So cute!
The ceremony looked out over Fernie and the surrounding mountains with clear blue sky 😍 then came portraits and reception candids!! The food was delish and my table was perfection because I got to sit with my nursey coworkers and meet cool new people! 🤌🏻

💞 Norleen & John had all their guests in tears reading their personal vows. The wind may have been cold but everyone’s hearts were warm. They were so poetic and beautiful they belong in a museum for sure!

Bringing a photo album of one of ur trips together to ur engagement session is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen! 📖 bonus points if it was a surprise gift and has a love letter in the back 🥹
Norleen & John live on opposite sides of the planet…for now…just wait till Aug!! Then Norleen gets to move to Aus with John! 🙌🏼
Norleen & John also LOVE their filmy photos so they brought her cam and also a cute dad video cam to document their whole trip while they’re here together!

💞TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!

Yesterday’s only scheduled event was a 8:30AM ceremony. Everything else was “wherever the wind takes us!”

Anna & Zach ordered room service and got ready together in their room at the Fairmont Lake Louise! At 8:30AM we headed down to the lake front for the “I dos” and to read some letters written from their family back in Aus. After that it was a little rainy so we head inside and explored the fairmont! Annas FAAAAAVE movie is Toy Story so we got Zach to write his name on her shoes like on Woodys boot 👢 From there we carpooled and drove to peyto lake ft lots of singing and dancing! After peyto we drove back to the Town of Banff for some margs at añejo and then got matching tattoos of some Banff mountains to remind them of their big day!

What an absolute privilege & I had to sign as witnesses for these love birds to be married!💞💞💞

Anna & Dawson said their I dos in banff last week on their 10 year dating anniversary🥹 after banff we drove back to the city, ordered pizza and just hung out! 🍕

These r just the “physical” trends I’ve seen popping up around Pinterest the most. There’s so many more different types of trends but ive just stuck with the main stuff you typically think about when planning your day! My advice is to ask ur vendors what they think the biggest trends r in that industry! For example…not sure what to do with ur hair and makeup? Ask ur hair and MUA what they’ve been seeing! As vendors we try and keep up with trends!

This week I’ve booked 1 wedding, 1 engagement session, and I have a call with a potential bride and groom tomorrow 🙌🏼 this season is gonna be 😍😍 and it starts VERY soon!!

Cocktail hour is typically used as a “filler” for ur guests between the ceremony and reception while you’re out taking portraits. Usually what happens is when you return cocktail hour ends and everyone heads in to the reception for supper. I say NO! Don’t do this!!! Enjoy cocktail hour with your guests!! Have a cocktail or 5 🤪
Cocktail hour is the PERFECT time to get some candids of EVERYONE chit chatting, taking selfies, making toasts etc.
This is one of my fave times of day to photograph…I get to document…journal your day…capture how the people around you made you feel 💞💞

The takeaway? Join in on your cocktail hour!!! 🥂🍸
