Special: The Night Shift Nurse and the In-Flight Emergency

A proud night shift nurse with 25 years of experience, Marci Ducret has seen almost everything - that is until she stepped up to help an ailing passenger on Ducret's cross-country journey from New Hampshire to San Diego for the 2023 ENA General Assembly. Just in time for Emergency Nurses Week, hear Ducret's tale of providing care midflight as the only health care worker on board. Tune in wherever you listen to podcasts.

I Just Want To Be A Nurse, Not The "Organizational Sponge" For Everyone Else | Opinion 07/08/2023

"Organizational sponge" - a very apt analogy. Just because we can do it all doesn't mean we should be expected to do it all.

I Just Want To Be A Nurse, Not The "Organizational Sponge" For Everyone Else | Opinion Nurses are challenged with many responsibilities both at the bedside and during their shifts. We explore how healthcare organizations can lessen the responsibilities to allow nurses to just be nurses again.

ENA wants to be sure you know which days to set aside for the biggest conference of the year.

Emergency Nursing 2023 is scheduled for Sept. 21-23 at the San Diego Convention Center. These dates are different than what ENA previously announced and promoted. This revised schedule doesn’t include Sept. 24.

The date change reflects valued member feedback and additional factors with the goal of maximizing experience with high-quality programming. This change does not decrease the number of CNE contact hours or the Experience Hall hours.

The now infamous but not very helpful N95 trial (Loeb 2022) - First10EM 15/12/2022

In case you heard about the study results that N95 masks are no better than surgical masks, the study is garbage. This article does a great job of explaining why this is bad science and should not change our recommendations for N95 masks v. surgical masks.

The now infamous but not very helpful N95 trial (Loeb 2022) - First10EM A critical appraisal of the N95 RCT Loeb 2022. Short answer- this trial had too many flaws to allow us to draw valid conclusions.
