Keri's Brief Bio...
Inspired by the beauty life has to offer, and fueled by the passionate love within her own heart, Keri began practicing yoga in her early teens. During the summer of 2004, she had the Blessed opportunity of studying in Tibet and China where her interest in Hinduism and Buddhism truly flourished. Dedicated to discover more about the philosophies and practices of Yoga, in 2005,
she underwent Jivamukti Yoga training with her foremost teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life. Intrigued to discover more about life and her Self, in 2006, she traveled to India for six months to explore first hand, the wonder Indian philosophies and practices had to offer. Inspired to share the wisdom she gained through her training and traveling experiences, she incorporated and shared this knowledge through her senior thesis at the University of Vermont. She co-created and co-taught Yogic Environmental Philosophy during the fall of 2006, a class rooted in the interconnection of yoga and environmental awareness. Appreciative for these opportunities she continues to blend together her passions for both yoga and the environment, in each of her classes. Currently, Keri is a Master's student in the University of Florida's Religion Department. In the final stages of birthing her MA thesis, entitled: "Contemplating Modern Ecological Yoga: Wild Practices for the Preservation of the World," Keri excitedly embraces the life of the academic and writing process. Keri is grateful for the continuous love and support of her family and friends; especially to her beloved soul sister for finding her again in this life, reintroducing her to the sacred teachings of yoga. To her parents, who are always there to support her through the ebb and flow of life. And to her brother who teaches her about the playfulness of life. Keri humbly bows down to the lotus feet of her Beloved teachers, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, and Suzanne Sterling for offering the ancient teachings of yoga, while inspiring her to share them with all willing individuals. Keri welcomes all practitioners to come and share the sacredness of yoga.
