1) Patrick Francis: Tora Tora bassist & my husband 🖤 who let me sit in for him at his cancer benefit - one of the best nights of my life. I’m still blessed to get to learn from him every time we play 🤘🏽

2) Dave Novotny: original Saliva bassist and long-time best friend who gave me a Fernandes bass of his back around 2009 which made me actually practice. When you want to learn to play an instrument and have no excuses left as to why you shouldn’t, then you do (or I did anyway 😝) Gemini Clan for life 🤘🏽

3) Malcolm Springer - Producer/Engineer whose tunes were always in my Memphis Made show playlists (2012 - 2019) including the Mother Station, Eric Gales, Isaac Hayes and Saliva to name a few. His discography is beyond impressive and would help define my years at Rock 103.

Last but not least…
4) Kelly McDonald - Memphis Music Bass Vet of many bands including Skyline, Gun Down Mary, Rodd Bland Band, Will Tucker, Earl "The Pearl" Banks (+ many others). But for me Virginia. Grant 🤘🏽was a life-changer as Kelly let me jump in on the low and fumble my way through tunes many a night. Fair to say, Kelly’s egoless ways changed my life for the better and we share an undying obsession for our bass hero Phil Lynott 🥃 🍀

If you want to become a better musician, surround yourself with players who are even kinder people. I’m so appreciative of their inspiration and support & it took a Guitar Hero’s passing to reunite us all 🥹🙏🏽Thank you Wayne Swinny! RIP Amigo - we’re still listening! 🎸 🕊️

Hell yeah!! Happy to hit another milestone, grateful to be another year older, another year wiser (maybe not according to my wife!). Lookin forward to another great year playin the blues and livin the dream.

It still stands as one of the coldest days in rocknroll history for me - Rock 103’s 40th anniversary, Rockhaven, took place on this day back in 2017! The die-hard Memphis Made fans came for Tora Tora EMN (Every Mothers Nightmare) Roxy Blue The ShotGunBillys Under the Radar - Memphis and then rocked with Poison’s Bret Michaels later. I’m still frozen from that day but it will always serve as one of my most favorite memories of being at the Walrus! - Catrina 🥶🤘🏽

Sadly, since Rockhaven, we lost Rock 103 Legend Brian Jay & Saliva’s Wayne Swinny - may our memories of them and their musical legacies live forever! ❤️‍🩹🎸🕊️🎶

Eight years ago today Metallica’s Robert Trujillo was cool enough to debut his Jaco Pastorious Documentary for Memphis Musicians including Legends Leroy Hodges, Earl “the Pearl” Banks, James Alexander, the late Tim Goodwin, moderator Sam Shoup and many others. It was an incredible night honoring the BASS GREAT and I don’t think enough kind words can be said about Rob for thinking of Memphis Made Music first! It was a highlight of my career to work with mi hermano Trujillo, Rock 103 and the Memphis Chapter of the Recording Academy to make this happen - special night - Catrina
