A brand new Mirror System studio album is nearing completion and will be released on October 25th! The title of the album is Route 77.

Mirror System is System 7’s parallel project specializing in downtempo, chill and soft tech-house.

Is it Bandcamp Friday? Is it?

I am deeply saddened to hear that my good friend Manuel Göttsching has passed away. I first met Manuel in 1977 when we became label-mates at Virgin Records, and Miquette and I met up with him several times at our concerts in Berlin. He came and stayed with us for a few days in the UK in 1980, and I remember having deep discussions with him about the future of music and technology. He was a truly innovative artist and a great guitarist. We discussed at some stage making an album together, but tragically this won’t happen now. I have great memories of various gigs we have done with Manuel in Japan, including performing “Innovations” with him in 2010. I should also mention that a shared appreciation for his work helped inspire our System 7 collaborations with Detroit artists like Derrick May. And it was through Manuel’s invitation that we first went to Berghain in Berlin, for his E2-E4 25th anniversary performance in 2006. Please rest in Cosmic Peace Manuel. ♥️♥️♥️
