Sweetheart and Mother pillows were a popular souvenir at military bases all over the country from WWI until WWII.
These are all examples of pillows that were purchased by soldiers at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

Co "C" 23rd Infantry Postcard from the Allison Collection. 1912.
The 23rd arrived at Fort Harrison in Jan of 1912 and left in February of 1913. They were under the command of Colonel Edwin F. Glenn.
