Definitely, is a good tool to imagine the future or the unreal worlds. For me, I prefer to revive history as if we went centuries backward. It was a dream to be able to go through a painting for the Islamic Cairo (the city of a thousand minarets) and walk through its streets, or a novel narrating the life then and how were the people and the context.

Maybe the results were not such close to the actual architectural style, but you can feel the vibes with the sunshine, clear sky, paved streets, materials textures, and the minarets of the mosques.
