Here are some great winter reminder tips.
Some advice for those of us with mobility challenges.
Shared by Kirsten Woodend
As winter approaches, it's crucial to prioritize safety in icy conditions. Slips, trips, and falls are statistically the most common workplace injuries during this season.
Here are some tips to keep you and those around you safe:
Footwear:
* Opt for winter-appropriate footwear with good treads for traction and warmth.
* Knock off any snow or ice from your boots before entering a building or on entrance mats to prevent slippery conditions inside.
* If your boots have removable traction spikes, take them off before entering a building, as they can be slippery on floors.
Walking:
* Slow down and take smaller steps to give yourself ample time to reach your destination.
* Keep your eyes on where you are going, not on your phone.
* Utilize handrails if available.
* Navigate around snow banks or obstacles and stick to salted/sanded walkways.
Driving:
* Reduce your speed, especially in parking lots, and be vigilant for pedestrians.
* Adapt your braking to weather conditions, as you may not be able to brake as efficiently as usual.
Exiting Vehicles:
* Swing both legs out and place both feet on the ground before standing.
* Hold onto the door or vehicle frame for support in case of slipping.
* Maintain a three-point contact when entering/exiting a high vehicle.
Be safe and enjoy the winter.

Today is World Diabetes Day 2023! Did you know that this year's theme is "Access to Diabetes Care"? It highlights the importance of understanding your risk for type 2 diabetes and empowering you to delay or prevent it. Let's highlight the impact of diabetes-related complications and the need for accessible information and care for timely treatment.
Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to disease management and prevention. This theme isn't just about diabetes; it's equally important for sepsis.
On this World Diabetes Day, let's highlight both and emphasize the universal need for accessible care and education.
Diabetes, especially when combined with a compromised immune system, increases the risk of sepsis. Together, we can advocate for accessible care and education for both diabetes and sepsis.
To learn more about sepsis visit our website:

Knowledge empowers. Access to care saves lives. Let's strive for a world where everyone, regardless of health status, has the tools to thrive.
I love finding hacks or new adaptive inventions created by a need. So many benifit from someones attempt to make life easier and better. Its always a great share in our community. β€οΈ
