In May of last year I was at one of my 300hr yoga weekends and had one of the most intense meditations of my life. lead us in a meditation to see where our paths lead as teachers and I was WILLING my meditation to “open a new studio, open a new studio” if you know about meditation you know that’s not how it works. She started by having us visualize us driving down a road, again I was willing myself to drive straight towards a new studio space, but the meditation said nope. I drove into the middle of the desert, got out on the hood of the car I was in and saw my family in the distance. God was telling me that my next step wasn’t a business right now, but it was to add a new addition into our lives and they were coming fast. I got back in the car and kept driving, at the end of my meditation I saw myself pressing keys into a door and right before I opened it, I opened my eyes.

Later that night I wanted more clarity and I asked for it. I prayed, I meditated and in my personal meditation I met our baby girl in this place I can only describe as the worldly womb. I wasn’t pregnant yet, but her soul was ready to come and meet mine. When we found out we were having a girl I was over the moon excited, because I already knew she was on our way to us many months before 🥹💗

Fun fact about me is I majored in Art in college and got so severely burned out I stopped painting for almost ten years. This season of life has brought me back this part of me, and also brought to my attention my cycle of obsession and burn out. This year I focused on family, fun and creativity. My next year I plan to cultivate all of the things that make me me, and find the balance instead of burnout. 🎨 🧘🏻‍♀️

One of the best shows I have seen in a while. Only cried a handful of times and it was so special in the Ryman. Closing down the show everyone singing together it was such a beautiful moment.

opened up for them and her voice was just powerful beyond words and we got to meet her in the lobby! She was a presence and some pipes on stage and so cute and sweet in person.

Fam getting ready for another Causey wedding excited to share a last name sister!

I’ve debated a few days this week about making a post like this, but this is something I’m struggling with and it’s just a real part of life. This is what chronic pain looks like. Some days you smile through it, you take some meds and there’s a small annoying but persistent pain in your lower back that you can push through until you get home. Some nights you want to stay out dancing with your friends, you take pics, but the numbness in your leg is getting more pronounced until you finally call it a night. Other days the pain is so bad it feels like your begging anyone to just help you. Begging someone to take the sharp shooting pain away. Some days (like this past week) you physically cannot get out of bed. You can’t dress yourself. You can’t run your child a bath. You can’t cook dinner, or wash clothes or teach your favorite yoga class, you can’t even switch which side you are laying on without help. It feels overwhelming and helpless. Chronic back pain is something I have dealt with since I was 16 years old. The older I get the more intense my flare ups get, the closer they get together and the longer they last. This time in particular I am experiencing foot drop which I never have before. Thankfully I’m getting a nerve test and MRI this week so I can know better how to move forward, but especially when you use your body as a means for living its devastating to not be able to move. If you deal with chronic pain I am so so sorry it’s one of the most difficult things I have personally had to deal with. I am doing everything in my power to get my body well and get back to teaching. It’s my most favorite thing so if I haven’t seen you this week now you know why 🖤

Meet the teacher! Waylon (after saying the pencil pouch I got him was lame 👎🏻) got so excited for 1st grade after seeing his new school!

I don’t always have visions or images when I meditate, it’s actually not something that happens for me super often. But I am always so appreciative when it does happen and I’m able to download clear messages. At the end of class last night in savasana I started seeing purple in the back of my eye lids. Mine always starts with purple. The colors slowly swirling and once I shift my focus I can channel it into a straight line above my head directly from the space between my eyes. I envisioned it growing up and over my body and then it starting creating these spheres. Think the flower of life pattern but more 3-D. I could see it extending out to others and connecting them to me. I saw it expand over my studio and then over the town of Bowling green and eventually the world. It becomes so clear how we are all so closely connected during meditation. It’s really powerful and so so beautiful. The vision expanded even further with my view outside of earth and I can see my Mama Lu holding earth with her palms. The vision was her, but the energy was not only hers but all of ours collectively. I drove home thinking of the vision and wanted to immediately sketch it out so I wouldn’t forget. It’s not a great drawing by any means, but I felt so comforted and empowered I needed to get it into physical form. One of my friends sent me this text this morning, and I write all this to show how we are all infinite, all connected all loved. We just have to tap into that part of ourselves. 🖤

Don’t wait for the timing to be perfect. Don’t wait until you “have the perfect body” or until you have the right amount of money. There will never be a more perfect time than right now. We all have to start somewhere, and if you can’t do it without being scared, do it scared. Life is too short to not jump, it’s to short to waste our potential, waste our energy, waste our LIFE. Live for you, live for those you love and create a life you are proud of living. You deserve to live authentic to you ✨

My heart is absolutely shattered. This week we received news that we were not prepared for. Unfortunately my Mama Lus cancer spread into her brain and spinal cord and my family has decided to start comfort care at home. Just last weekend she told me she wasn’t ready to go. She had so much life ahead of her. She is the best grandmother literally in the world. The kind of love you undoubtedly feel, and prayers that you know are making a difference in your life. I love you Mama Lu so much 🖤 Please pray for her comfort and ease during this time. She is just the most wonderful lady. One who made my childhood absolutely magical. I love you

I never knew you could be completely in love with someone while simultaneously being so annoyed with them at the same time 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel so freaking proud, and if you knew my whole story you would be proud too. We all have so many gifts. It is my true believe we are sent here to learn our gifts and share them with others. If you feel stuck, or like you don’t have direction seek out what you love and seek out how you can help other people. In the merging of those paths is where you will find your purpose.

It’s giving backyard vacation ☀️

I love the feeling of being strong more than anything in this world. The gratitude I feel for where I am in life is unexplainable. There are countless opportunities for us out there! When we work hard and chase them, removing fear they come. We have to be ready to accept opportunities AND be willing to put in the work for them. The work, yes it’s made me physically strong, but it’s made me mentally stronger than ever before.

We had the best time celebrating and Ryan! It was such a sweet and heartfelt ceremony.
