Jesus and Me - JAM
Jesus and Me (JAM) is NUIC Parish's "Sunday School" on Wednesday evenings! Join us to learn the bible
Bible Sunday will be October 8 during service at Little Falls. All new JAM students in preschool through grade two will receive a picture bible. All students entering grade three will receive an adult bible. We encourage all of our students to bring their bibles each week to JAM, and to read them at home.
Summer has gone so fast! With school starting soon, it will be time to start JAM again!
Rally Sunday will be at Trinity on September 10. We will have our traditional Penny March and discuss our upcoming year of activities!
Our NUIC Parish has plans to make Wednesday nights a “Family Night” at church. All are encouraged to attend! More information will be available soon.
This year, JAM will be held at one church for 3 months before rotating to another church. We will be at Little Falls for the months of September, October and November.
Our first JAM class will be September 13 at Little Falls. This year we are focusing on some of the parables told by Jesus. Our first rotation is "The Parable of the Sower."
We hope to see all of you on Rally Sunday!
We had a small group for VBS, but the kids learned about the stories of Moses. They learned about him as a baby floating in a basket and getting found by Pharoah's daughter, Moses listening to God through the burning bush, Moses and the 10 plagues of Egypt and finally Moses going up Mt. Sinai and getting the 10 Commandments from God. I don't think any of the kids will forget our song, "Pharoah, Pharoah"! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc7MyuTGTrk
FYI: First Lutheran Church is offering a community wide VBS from July 16th-20th from 5:00-7:30 in the evening for kids entering 4k-5th grade. Each night supper will be provided right at 5:00. VBS is free to attend, but a free-will offering is humbly and graciously accepted (suggested donation is $40/child). Donations can be brought to VBS.
Please us this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1TzcGvl5ScoE7qzWlMYhrdIvL53UU3TMTkG8yb_giKmM/edit to sign-up (it's also available through First Lutheran's website).
Also, NUIC is planning a one day VBS for our students on Saturday August 12 from 9:00 am until noon at Trinity. More information will come as the date gets closer. Enjoy your week!
Vacation Bible School Registration 2023 Thanks for registering! Amery Community VBS is open to all kids entering 4k-5th, and all older youth as volunteer helpers. Please fill out the following to register for Community VBS this summer, a ministry of Amery Congregational, East Immanuel, First Lutheran, Our Savior's, Redeemer and Neighbors....
Just a reminder that JAM is at Trinity for the month of February, starting tonight. The Amery Free Press states that it is at Deronda, but that is incorrect.
We hope to see you all at Trinity tonight! Keep warm!
No school in Amery today, so no JAM tonight. Stay safe everyone and enjoy the snow!
Even though school closed today, we are still hoping to hold our Christmas program practice tonight from 5:45 pm to 7:30 pm. Supper will also be served at 5:15 pm. Please come if you are able.
If we need to reschedule for Saturday morning because of road conditions and the weather, we will send out another email by 3:00 pm today.
Just a reminder that this Sunday, September 11, is Rally Sunday during the service at Deronda. We will be recognizing the education committee members, giving out children's bibles to any new preschoolers and adult bibles to our third graders, and having a penny march, where the kids will be collecting congregation members loose change (and bills!)
JAM classes will begin on Wednesday, September 14 with our rotation on "David, God's chosen King" at 6:00 p.m. at Little Falls. A light meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.
Even though we had a small number of students, we had a lot of fun being "Outlaws for God" at VBS. The kids learned through Bible stories about characters who were "outlaws", defying norms (and sometimes even laws!) if that's what it took to follow God.
We also met the surprising ultimate rebel of the Bible…. (spoiler alert: He was God's son!)
JAM and confirmation students had a great time making communion bread today.
April 6 will be our last Wednesday of the Lenten Services. This will be at Little Falls.
The JAM and Confirmation kids are asked to come and make communion bread for Palm Sunday on April 9 at 11:00 am at Deronda Church.
April 10, after the worship service we will be having a Seder meal. All are invited to attend.
April 13, Holy week, there will be no JAM. We will resume again with our last lesson Ruth & Naomi on April 20 & 27 at Little Falls.
Our last day of JAM will be May 4 with a "Fun Day" at Deronda.
Just a reminder that JAM resumes tomorrow at Little Falls at 6:00 with our rotation on Mary and Martha. Dinner for the kids will be provided beforehand starting at 5:30.
The WELCA ladies at Trinity will be serving coffee on Sunday after the program, JAM kids/parents may bring cookies and or bars if you would like to contribute. Thank you in advance.
Also, please remember to have the children to church by 9:00 a.m.
Remember the Christmas Program is this Sunday, December 19 at Trinity during worship. We would like to have the children arrive at church by 9:00 a.m., so we can run through the program before the service.
Also, please continue to practice the songs that were sent out earlier and any lines your child may need to learn for the program.
Enjoy your week, stay safe and warm!
JAM, confirmation, and our wonderful NUIC congregations packed 47 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, https://www.samaritanspurse.org/occ after the November 14 service at Trinity. The JAM kids finished packing them at class at Deronda, and the confirmation kids added cards.
We truly are blessed with loving, caring families!
Just a reminder that there is no JAM this week, but we resume again next week, December 1, at Trinity. We will begin practicing for our Christmas program. The program will be December 19 at Trinity during the worship service.
Kids will not need to bring their bibles for program practices. We hope to see you all on December 1. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
The kids will be singing at Deronda church during the service at 9:30 am, this Sunday, October 17. We hope to see all of you there!
Wednesday, we begin our second rotation: Mary, Jesus' mother. We are at Little Falls for another two weeks, and then we move to Deronda. The kids had fun during the last rotation on Esther, making Haman's hat cookies, playing Jeopardy, acting out the story and making crafts.
We also have begun collecting items for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. Each week we will be collecting items to add to our shoeboxes. We will open it up to the congregation in November to assist with collecting donations and packing of the boxes. I have included the website below for your reference.

10 area children "fished" their way through our One Day VBS on Saturday. They learned about the Fishers of Men Bible story with a song, games, snack, skit, crafts, and fun!
Welcome back to NUIC VBS! We have missed you! Here is a poster and registration form for our one day VBS. Please send registration information via message to this page or email to [email protected].
We have missed seeing your smiling faces, so we hope to see you all there!
Please let us know if you have any questions. Give this post a "like" if your family is interested in attending.
We apologize for not getting this out on the first Wednesday of March. This time, We're going to blame the warm weather for it! We hope everyone is staying healthy and enjoying the sunshine.
This lesson is on Jesus walking on the water. If you start by looking at the "JAM at Home" flyer, it lists all of the activities and has a link to the movie. We've also included links to a couple of songs! The file labeled "Walk on Water Intro" has a small amount of background information and some family discussion and prayer.
