I am so pleased with the repair and paint job on this bear. Our staff, Jenice is very talented when it comes to creative ideas. We now have a brown bronzed bear. She also painted the sign for us.
We wish Jenice the very best in her 3rd year of Bible school in the fall. She is already missed around here as she is busy as head wrangler at a camp down south. Hopefully she can fit us in for at least spring next year!

Our oldest son, Dale, got new birthday mitts. He just turned 30 years old yesterday! He was due for a new pair since he is still wearing the 2nd pair I ever made! Beaver mitts, Buffalo hide and lynx leg fur. Lined with black sheep shearling. Another BEWA ( Bear Essential Wild) "Arctic Special" creation using fur we caught and tanned.

Our family loves cheese...well, the cook loves cheese. It is very expensive in Canada.( $14-15 a block of Velveeta for instance).

When you hunt with us, you hunt with a trapping family. We have souvenir tanned pelts for sale. No long drawn out CITES permit process. Quick export permit requiring a simple signature. We have tanned wolves, coyotes, lynx, badger, beaver, Fisher, otter, marten, raccoons, fox and even a woodchuck.
Question: how much wood could a woodchuck chuck...? Oh never mind 🤣
Come to Saskatchewan and hunt with us and take home more than a buck!

Our Story
Bear Essential Wilderness Adventures (formerly Manley Outdoor Adventures) is a
family operated Saskatchewan based black bear AND whitetail hunting operation. We offer spring bear hunts in the remote northern forest, and fall bear and deer hunts in the forest fringe area. We take a limited number of hunters each year to allow for the best possible hunting experience. However, we are not simply another outfitter. We seek to provide our hunters with the ADVENTURE of a lifetime beyond simply shooting a bear or deer. Six to nine months of the year (late fall, all winter and spring), we spend on our northern trapline which also encompasses our vast bear outfitting lease. The deer hunting lease is close to home with sites in the forest fringe, deep in the forest and in the farmland.
Our main mode of transportation to the north camp is by Argo (spring bear); an amphibious, tracked vehicle capable of traversing extreme terrain with ease. Our drop off point is about 4 hours northeast of the nearest big city centre. From the beginning of the trail, we go north another 3-4 hours by Argo to reach our outpost camp. (Although, our trapline area extends hundreds of square miles north of that.)
The bear and deer camps are designed for comfort as well as adventure.
Large luxurious canvas wall tents with wood floors and propane or wood heaters provide comfortable accommodations out of the elements in the north spring bear camp. In deer camp, hunters stay small off grid rustic cabins with all the amenities.
