Congratulations to RHS upcoming Juniors Camille Smith and Kate Williams! Camille won 1st place in the 16-18 year old division in the Peach Festival Art Show for her graphite portrait, and Kate placed 2nd with her graphite skull drawing. Keep making RHS proud, ladies!

It's time again for our annual Spring Art Auction! This year the funds raised helps the students travel to see the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston!

The auction opens today and closes this Sunday at 11:59 pm. Pieces must be paid for and picked up (or sent home with a student) by Wednesday, May 22nd.

The Peach Art Exhibition is one of NCLAC’s longest-running programs. Featuring drawing, painting, photography, 3-D art, and mixed media; artists of all ages are encouraged to submit their own original art pieces, which are judged for awards provided by our sponsors. We are excited to continue the tradition of hosting the Peach Art Exhibit alongside the Louisiana Peach Festival for our 37th year.

It's that time! Time for Ruston High School Talented Art's 2nd annual Spring Art Auction! This is to help us raise funds for our Talented Art Trip to the Dallas Museum of Art!

Attention artists!

Attention Lincoln Parish Artists: Thanks to funding from the Louisiana State Cultural Districts Implementation Grant, we have an exciting opportunity in the Ruston Cultural District. We are seeking four artists for a mini-mural project on four of our transformer boxes. Boxes are varied in size but are approximately 4ft by 5ft. Each box will be “transformed” into a work of art to add visual interest to an everyday object in our district.

Art submissions must be received by 5 pm, April 10, 2023. Once selected, artists will receive a supply credit of $400 at Creative Exchange. Once the mural is complete, there is a $775 stipend. and photos of the boxes are available in our application. Submissions will be reviewed by the Mini Mural Project Committee. Submissions are limited to Lincoln Parish residents or local university students. Artists will be notified by April 14th if they have a winning design. Winning designs will be required to be completed by May 17th.

The mission of the Ruston Cultural District is to embrace and promote our local visual, performing, literary, and culinary arts, as well as folk life. The Ruston Cultural District is excited about this opportunity and celebrates the ways that our local artists provide public art, as well as opportunities for the public to engage with art in unexpected ways. It is our hope that when people visit our district, they can see the commitment to making art and culture a part of our everyday experience.
