💍 ONE FOR THE SECOND HAND
Masuk softball captured a ring for the thumb last season, but the sixth one wouldn’t be easy.
The Panthers drew Ellington and their ace pitcher Camryn Fisher in the Class L final.
Masuk struck first, second, third and fourth and rode a complete game shutout by Julia Bacoulis to capture the program’s unprecedented sixth straight state title in a 4-0 win over Ellington in the Class L finals.
“It is so amazing, especially with this group of girls,” Bacoulis said. “Being able to win together is just an amazing feeling. We have really good chemistry, we understand each other really well.”

🥎⭐️ Here are the top performances in softball from the semifinals and championships of the CIAC state tournaments:
🙌 Congratulations to 3 Masuk players recognized for TOP performances for June 10th: ⭐️ Madison Aguirre, ⭐️ Julia Bacoulis, & ⭐️ Natalie Lieto‼️

🥎💣 Madison Aguirre, Masuk: The junior went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Masuk's 4-0 Class L championship victory over Ellington.
🥎🔥Julia Bacoulis, Masuk: The junior was named the Class L championship MVP after throwing a complete one-hit shutout with no walks and 13 strikeouts. In the 4-2 semifinal win over Guilford, she allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 12.
🥎☄️ Natalie Lieto, Masuk: The senior Penn State commit went 2-for-3 in Masuk's Class L 4-2 semifinal win over Guilford, hitting a double and driving in two runs.
