How neat are these handmade keepsakes for Grandma's Marathon - Duluth, Inc.? Today on The Lift, hear what I Dream As Jeanne hopes people will feel when they wear them.

Every collection we create begins with an intention. The intention behind the marathon collection is to give runners something tangible to bring them back to the finish line. Whenever we overcome an obstacle, we have this moment; a moment where we allow ourselves to bask in the glory of our accomplishment. And then we’re on to the next thing. My hope is that the rocks on these pieces; rocks that were collected from the shoreline that they ran alongside, will hold that feeling for them. That way, when they wear it or see it, or attach their keys to it, they will allow themselves just a little more basking. They definitely earned it.

This is our new friend Autumn. She wandered into our booth in Columbia, Missouri by herself. She took her time, looking at all of the things, reaching out and touching some of them. I noticed her immediately because of the un-rushed, intentional nature of her perusing. There was one necklace; a simple cairn with some very special stones that she kept coming back to. Each time she would reach out and touch it. She left, and then came back with her Mom a little later, heading right back to that necklace. She looked up at her Mom with the “Please?” face that all parents are familiar with. There was a quiet conversation, and without a fuss, she followed her Mom out.

Sometimes, at events there are these extra special people that show up. People that are drawn to the rocks in this really profound way. Autumn was one of those people and I really wanted that necklace to go home with her. So I quickly wrapped it up and went to find her several booths away. When I gave it to her, she looked at me in disbelief and I explained to her and her Mom how impressed I was by her appreciation of the rocks. With a hug, I headed back to our booth and my day was made.

The next day she showed back up, this time with her Dad and this adorable creature and a little purse that she had crocheted herself and wanted to give me. She’s starting a business of her own called “Cloudy Day Crochet” (What a great name, right?!).

These little moments; exchanges with people that don’t feel little at all are the biggest gifts.

2024 Participants --- Grandma's Marathon Weekend

Light, dark. Sun, moon. Exhale, inhale. Give, receive. Obvious, subtle. You can only have balance by giving equal attention to both. I made this today. Isn’t she beautiful? Lake Superior stones ❤️

April is a production month for us. It’s jewelry creation all day every day! Okay, maybe not ALL DAY. Besides inventory for upcoming shows we’re making some goodies like these for the runners of Grandma’s Marathon. Made with stones collected from the very shoreline that the race follows.
They’ll be available in the Etsy shop in May, and we will be set up the weekend of the race in Duluth for in-person purchases!

We are headed back to Arizona this week and are so excited to be a part of the Spring Street Fair March 22-24! 🌵☀️

A week in this glorious place with these extraordinary people. Sunsets, laughter, yoga, pelicans, food, work, adventures, stories, malas, horses, meditation, earth, fire, air, water, tears, so many perfect moments.
The intention was to find their way back to themselves and to stillness, to be there in their moments, and to learn the truth; that they have everything they need. You are all truly exceptional. Giant heaps of gratitude to Cali and Kim for helping to light the way.

The First Revival is in the books.

Why San Carlos?

We will literally be surrounded by the elements in all their astonishing glory. The town is nestled in between El Cerro Tetakawi (mountain) and the Sea of Cortez which is known for its warm, sparkling blue waters. You will have the opportunity to paddleboard, kayak, and swim in the Sea — as it’s only 100 meters from our doorstep.

8-Day REVIVAL in San Carlos, Sonora MX

Revival: To come or bring something back to life, health or existence.

The word “retreat” has never resonated well with me. Perhaps that’s why I have avoided them, both as a facilitator and as a participant. So, when I found this miraculous place in San Carlos surrounded by Mountain and Sea, and I knew I wanted to gather people here to bring them back to themselves, I needed a different word.
What’s the opposite of retreat? Return? Arrive? That feels better…..
And there it was; revive.
That’s what I want for people; I want you to return to life, health and existence. But I don’t want you to do it for just 8 days. I want those eight days to be a beginning, not a time-out. A chance to allow your own voice to be turned up, and the chatter to be turned down, and the ability to make those volume settings permanent.
