Runner's Workshop

Another great day at camp. The athletes did a great job with their training this morning. One group heading out on Skyline trail for a long run, a second group doing the REI loop through the trees, the third doing a great fartlek workout and the last group tearing it up on the interval loops. Two great clinics - yesterday by our HOKA National Champions (NAU and New Mexico) speakers Matt and Alice and today with Coach O'Rourke and Coach Elizondo. Lots of great recreation and team bonding activites in our amazing Big Bear camp. Tonight is Talent and 60's lip sync night. Can't wait for tomorrow's runs and the camp Olympics!

In the middle of our second full day at camp and our athletes are crushing it! Great workouts, clinics, cross training, outdoor recreation, making friends and memories

At Woodbridge this past weekend Maddie Garcia got to see one of her old campers, Kaya Scuba from Sage Creek!

Tyler and Sydnie raced last weekend at the Great Cow Invitational - Coaches Division. Both killed it (not the cow) winning top coach medals. Way to represent!

We want to highlight what some of our counselors have been up to so far this season.

First up is Ethan.

Ethan is currently in LA continuing pursuing freelance film work. He’s been keeping up with his running and lifting split, and is very impressed with the camper’s progress.

Some more pictures of the girls on their run this morning! Spirits were incredibly high and even some of the girls were caught singing after the workout! ☺️☺️

Our girls took on Coach Devin’s hill workout this morning and spotted a beautiful rainbow on the way! So so lucky to have this view!

Our kids got to experience some awesome clinics this week from coaches, physical therapists, and even an Olympian! They covered topics from hills to racing to injury prevention!

The counselors last night hosted a safari/survivor night themed night, complete with tons of fun games like limbo, a dance-off, and a clothing relay!

The girls had some fun on the Ernie Maxwell trail again today!! Even though our workouts are hard, we love keeping it silly and fun always!

Every night at camp has a fun theme! Our first night, the counselors put on a campfire for the kids doing silly skits, and last night we had a “casino” night filled with card games and a raffle with real prizes!!

The boys also headed out on the Ernie Maxwell trail! We’re lucky to have such gorgeous trails at our Idyllwild camp! See if you spot a runner you know!

First run out on the Ernie Maxwell trail went awesome! The girls tan anywhere from 50-20 minutes and had a blast looking out at the awesome views!

The boys killed both the run yesterday and the tempo workout this morning!! Third run of camp and spirits are still high and only getting better!!

From race tactics to aqua jogging to hurdles, these athletes are learning tons of new skills to take back to their teams at home! Afternoon active clinics are one of the best parts of camp!

Our campers were happy to here from and — two lovely representatives! They talked about all things running and racing, and the kids were eager to ask loads of questions! Thank you Paige and Lauren!!
