Our Story
Play on Word is a devotional employing tactile learning with toys to teach the tangible love of Jesus. The lessons were originally written in the form of Sunday school lessons for a small group of preschoolers, lovingly known as the "LITTLE LAMBS" of our church. These bright-eyed and warm-hearted children were ready for so much more than color pages and read-aloud bible stories during our hour together on Sunday mornings. They inspired me weekly to create something that they could grasp mentally, spiritually, and physically. So, using the bible and toys/objects from around my house, I wrote lessons for them. The little lambs were like sponges in that they sought and absorbed God's word, even at the young ages of 2 to 5 years old! After years of sharing, learning, and "playing on Word", they graduated from preschool Sunday school. God bless those little lambs. May they still be hungry for God's Word and reaching for it so readily. Shortly after their graduation and my own daughter heading off to kindergarten, God called me to alter the lessons, write more lessons, and give them to families to “Play on Word” at home together. Five years later my dream has come true - to open little eyes, minds, hearts, and souls to the tangible love and lessons of Jesus Christ as published in Play on Word: Bible Playtime Activities for Young Children available at PlayonWord.com, DeepRiverBooks.com, and on Amazon beginning June 21, 2018.
