RSD traveled from Riverside to compete at College Cup 2023 and couldn't be more proud to see everyone's happy faces, creating new memories with one another. We are one boat, one team, one family. Huge shout out to our friends and family for the support they've shown for the team both on and off the boat.
From our coach, "Thank you to the team for your 6 weeks of dedication to show up and display our hard work out on the water. Lets ride this momentum because we're not done yet!"

RSD held our annual banquet on May 28, where we reminisced over the past year as a team + family, showcased our appreciation to the seniors and our previous Board, and transferred it over to our new elected Board for the ‘22-‘23 term. Though we’ve already heard everyone’s speeches and said our goodbyes to seniors, we still wanted to make a recap post for the memories.

We appreciate all of the seniors/alumni for sticking with RSD, and for playing a vital part in our unique and welcoming culture throughout their past years on the team. We’ll greatly miss all of you guys!!

Last but not least, thank you to 2021-2022 Board (Captain Lindy Chen, Team Manager Jade Ou, Water Coach Eden Yu, Land Coach Madi Ghoreishi, and Treasurer Jean Lai) for helping us get to where we’re currently at and for dedicating so much of their time, hard work, and guidance during the ‘21-‘22 term. This one was a year to remember. 🤍🤍🤍

Over a month too late, but congratulations to Riverside Surging Dragons for getting 4th and earning some hardware🏅 in Mixed Division II at the Big Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival despite being down a row of paddlers! 🙌

With over half of our crew being in Northern California and getting hit with Covid-19 during the summer season, it was difficult for us to practice together as one team. Even with these circumstances, many of our paddlers trained as much as they could on and off the water, and a handful of us still managed to come out to water practices down in SoCal. 💪

Huge shoutout to May from for being our caller during our placement races, and to Ondrian and Oliver from for being our caller and steersmen during Finals. We are extremely grateful for your guys’ help!! We couldn’t have done it without you. :))

Last month, our former water coach Eden and some of our alumni raced at the 13th Club Crew World Championships in Sarasota, Florida. Racing for and .db in their CCWC debuts, they raced against some of the fastest crews in the world hailing from countries such as Canada, Germany, and the UK.

With Southbreeze, Eden earned three silver medals racing in the premier division! We're all proud of you Eden! 🥰🥰🥰
