Suidae of the world! Who has hunted 5 or more different boars?
Great old advertisement from Savage Arms
The beauty and the beast ... in one rifle combined! This is Magnus' plains game rifle for Africa! Based on the Steyr model Pro Hunter, customized by CWC Guns & Rifles. Chambered in 8X68S, mounted by Leupold Optics
Opened the Deutsche Jagdzeitung today to find a picture of us! We had a great hunt on chamois back then .... however the article coming with our picture is about hunting jealousy ... somthing we never had in all our mutual hunts ... and I am very sure we will never have ... (that is what the subtitel of the pics say: "these two hunters obviously don't know hunting jealousy")
If you had the choice between these two beauties, which one would you chose? The Wi******er Mod. 70 Safari Express in .458 Win Mag or the CZ 550 Safari Magnum in .458 Lott! Please no caliber discussion - just by the looks? Which one for you is the "real" african dangerous game rifle?
Who will be in Dortmund in January and up for a coffee/beer and a talk?
Den hunting today. Most of the time you find foxes in the den, sometimes badger or raccoon dogs. Very rarely racc***s are in the den. Today we had three in one den. Mine, the wirehair dachshund did a great job, still c***s don't jump. They never jump because of a dog. You have to dig them out. Thank God we were hunting an artificial den.
Boris' driven hunt in Germany today was a great success ... ! 3 boars and one roe deer sums up a great hunting day in the snow
While Boris ist very busy with driven hunts these days, Magnus was successful on the morning stalk. One fallow-calf and one wild boar pigglet for the freezer!
As for 2022, we got published in the latvian annual special "Mednieka gads" again. This time it's all about strategies of female red deer hunting. Get your copy here: https://veikals.latvijasmediji.lv/shop/product/1795
29th of July!
Meeting a living legend! Kai Uwe Denker is a pioneer in namibian hunting history! He has been the president of the namibian professional hunter association (Napha Namibia) and author of many great books. We met him today at the JAGD & HUND - Europas größte Jagdmesse in Dortmund! He autographed his book "along the hunters path" today for us.
This time of the year the farmers start cutting gras for the first time. At the same time, roe deer gave birth to their fawns. These fawns are hiding in the high gras and their survival tactic is to duck down whenever danger accurs. They don't run. What is definitely a great idea against predators, doesn't work at all against harvester. Ducking down is a deadly trap. So before the farmer mows the gras, we fly with a drone with a thermal camera, dedect the fawns, collect them and release them when everything is over. The does easily find their fawns then! That way, we rescued 15 fawns today alone!

Counting the grey partridge (Perdix perdix) is one of the cool things happening in a small game area in March and beginning of April!
Did you know? Which markhor is your favorite?
It‘s time again! Finally!
He eats animals.
He wears animals.
He hunts with animals.
He rides animals.
And yet a Mongolian eagle hunter is more in harmony with Mother Nature than a city vegan will ever be.
That’s my closing thoughts for the month of Veganuary.
Fake meat, fake eggs, fake milk, fake cheese, fake leather, fake vitamins, fake wool, fake ethics, fake science.... Vegans live in a delusional virtue signalling fake world.
Identifying the s*x of the mute swan (Cygnus olor) is not easy from a distance as both gender are about same size! On a closeup however you can see that the hump on the edge of the beak of the male is lots bigger! The length of the beak also is an indicator such as the shape of the black mask (pic: female top, male below)
Who will be there?
Pass by . . .!
Hornady will be attending the 2022 IWA OutdoorClassics show in Nuremburg, Germany on March 3-6, 2022, at the Exhibition Centre, booth -217. We can't wait to see everyone!
Something educational today! Did you know?
RIP Heiko Schwartz! You will be missed!
