Sonik

The new album "Book Of Grim" by Brothers Grim is out today on Apple Music and Spotify. The project was produced by Kryple, and recorded and mixed by Nato at Up In Arms studios in Edmonton. Cover art was hand drawn by Telawz, and designed by Sonik.

As of now, the album is currently sitting at #3 on Apple Music - not too shabby guys.

I also had the opportunity to design some additional assets for the project, including the artwork for the two singles 'GP20' and 'Beverly', along with the promotional photography we used.

This was a fun project to be a part of, with really good people that I've known for years. Their dedication and passion makes this project that much more valuable to me.

I shot this over the course of a few days throughout my house on an Sony a6300, using a 16-50, 50mm prime, and fisheye (8mm, I think). Edited with Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

Also turns out that although I hate shaving my beard, I will if the role is good enough. Gathering props is always fun too, especially when I get to wear both a wig and a bald cap.

Pro wrestling also made an appearance here via the TNT championship belt, Jesse Ventura, and Konnan (and I'm proud of those clips).

This beat was produced by Kryple, and is the first single and video off of an upcoming project produced entirely by him. Scroll down to see it on the 'Choobe.

The N64 + Purple Controller Bundle was the first video game system I bought with my own money (the controller was purple, but console was normal). This was crazy, because up until then it was either arcades, or other friends' houses who owned video games (shoutout to Tom, 6 button controllers, and MK2).

I also wanted to make sure Ice Blue Raspberry Kool Aid had a cameo. Gallons of this drink was consumed over multiple weekends playing Zelda, Mario 64, or WCW World Tour (the first 3D wrestling game I played that we'd rent from either Rogers or Blockbuster).

Fast forward a few years, and both would see a return in my adult life as very important props in the 'Time Slips Away' music video by Knixxen Out, featuring Brayden Bonnett. Check out the new video below if you haven't had a chance yet, directed by Sonik.

The features felt natural and well paced. They made sense and fit the bill, even with differing styles. The crowd was surprised and lost it again when Lil Windex showed up.

The live beat making showcased natural talent, and served as proof for anyone that needed it about his beat making skills, even under pressure."
