Stunning day spent at La Biennale di Venezia. Note plan on taking more than one day to see and more importantly having enough energy to devote to all. It was truly a blessing to be present. What a world we live in.

New 2024 paintings; Garden Path, Left and Garden Path, Right are together a diptych. A scene is from my daily walks in Fort Tryon in Manhattan. The park sits on a rocky bluff over the Hudson River and has the most amazing sunsets. I try and time my walk to soak in this beautiful tribute to man made gardens, wild vegetation and the revolution of the Earth and Sun. This moment in time always ends my day perfectly.

Perhaps a cure for the world’s woes is a lot more dancing. Can you tell I just finished reading the headlines? But seriously have you been to a live dance show? I am so impressed with the talent. I have a dear friend that has turned me on to attending anything the Joyce Theater puts in. I’m awestruck at the creativity on display. It’s an art form that needs our attention. Imagine a world where we’re so busy dancing that we refocus attention on the joy of movement.

This is a sweet story or provenance. Tete a tete was sold like almost 20 years ago to a good friend. She made a walk in her home with all kinds of local artist work. After her husband dies she moves and this collage ended up in an antique store. Since then the new owner and I have been texting and now it is reframed and hanging in his home. I have enjoyed connecting the dots with past work. Thanks Robert for reaching out. ❤️Rebecca.

"Something Happened Today That Will Never Happen Again" is a painting that I produced on the news that my dear friend, and one of my best collectors, was in Hospice. Julia. She is gone and all too soon. We are all in shock. How can you lose someone that fast? That young? That vivacious? So many unanswered questions. So many are grieving. The artwork was a result of an internal urge to express my emotions that day.

Since I posted last November another collector of my works for the covers of his many books, is the author and professor, Christian Moreau. I just received the latest edition from one of his prolific writings and it's on the cover of the American Book Review, Spring 2023.

It is no coincidence. Thank you Julia for your presence.

And thank you Christian Moreau, Professor of American Literature and Critical Theory, University of North Carolina, Greensboro

One of my favorite paintings, "Julia's Party" commissioned. I miss seeing this.

This body of artwork commemorates the tragic beginning of the Trail of Tears – a dark chapter in American history. This was the spot where the last 7 tribes held their last meeting. Learn more about this sorrowful journey and how we can learn from it today.

So many reasons to keep painting and exploring what paint can become.

Perception tells us one thing, reality presents another. I spent a bit of time recently in NC. My sister, and son, Rich went to a lavender farm. From the website we could see fields of lavender. We were so excited to spend a day picking lavender. But it's that perception vs. reality occurence that often happens. We truly didn't expect Southern France lavender fields but we were a little disappointed in 4 wide rows on an acre especially after a long drive. As you can see we made the best of it.
