NEW LEADERSHIP IN ARCHITECTS' GROUP IN DUBAI

The United Architects of the Philippines - 124 Dubai Chapter or UAP Dubai has a new set of officers who were introduced at the UAP Dubai Awards 2023 held at the Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk last Sunday.

The group has over 500 Registered License Architects (RLA) in Dubai from 487 companies.

• The Site Engineer assists the Project Managers/Site Managers in executing all project requirements according to the company standards ensuring that quality and HSE policies are strictly adhered to.
• Supervise all on-site construction including subcontractor’s, resolve day-to-day problems on the job site and inspect all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Leading, directing and monitoring the performance of all site Leadman, Foremen and support staff in the team.
• Responding with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with contract documents.
• Advising and assisting the sub-contractor on construction procedures.
• Observing the safety procedures followed by the sub-contractor and issuing instructions as necessary to correct safety violations.
• Liaising with the consultant and design team to achieve the highest achievable standards within the contracts.
• Monitoring progress, assessing of standards, reviews, design changes and advise Project Manager/Site Manager as to its progress.
• Assists in management of construction projects. Includes the development of the detailed shopdrawings, material and labor forecasting, interacting with sub-contractors, and exercising overall site control of the project
• Administers work permit procedures. Includes reviewing drawings, determining feasibility of work, and giving work approval at site.
• Keeps document control activities, liaising with External Engineers, Consultants, Sub-Contractors and other sections etc.
• Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s HSE&Q policies and procedures, ensuring that appropriate preparatory and protective measures are employed at all stages of the work by employees and sub-contractors. Arranges for appropriate safety training to be given to employees and contractors on site.
• Preparation of Inspection and test plans and reviewing the same submitted by the sub-contractors.
• Reviewing workshop/Fabrication drawings
• Carries-out inspection of day-to-day activities and reporting to the Project Manager/Site Manager.
• Takes ownership of the site activities from site development to completion and handing over
• Planning resources application in advance and tracking the costs for each application.
• Capable of preparing risk Assessments and job safety Analysis of site activities.
• Comparing planned progress with actual and communicating with other sub-contractors

Compile the BOQ from the contract documents & Engineering Drawings. Company is engaged in executing turnkey projects for Architectural Engineering Construction and Interior Fitout for various Projects.

Float enquiries / RFQs to approved vendors with all technical details.

Obtain quotes & check for technical compliance with the contract specifications. Liaise directly with client & resolve technical queries of the vendors. Mail & obtain final client approval on the technical specifications.

Negotiate with the vendors for prices, delivery & payment terms.

Prepare & present Detailed Technical Commercial Comparative to Management for approval.

Co-ordination with Vendor, Client & Project Management Consultant for inspection & dispatch clearance.

Follow up with vendor / subcon to ensure timely delivery of goods and installation at project site.

Co-ordinate with project site & attend to their requirements of raw materials & consumables for timely and quality supply and installation

Must prepare & update procurement & dispatch schedules in line of the Project Timeline.

REQUIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

BE / Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering / Arch.

Fluency in English is a must and would be an added advantage to assist site in local purchase.

Must have minimum 2 years work experience in similar AEC Projects / technical expertise for planning & procurement of engineering goods.

Requires good communication & negotiation skills & must be able to correspond independently with vendors & client.

Require good computer knowledge in MS Office / AutoCAD / MS Project / Primavera. Command in Excel for preparation of comparatives is a must.

Must be smart, hardworking & motivated and be able to work under pressure.

Must have a computer / laptop with a strong internet connection to Work From Home including video calls for weeks / months when needed
