One year ago today, the cross country program lost a member of our team. James Woods was a kid who always brought fun and laughter to our practices and meets. Since his passing, the program has found many ways to honor James. A few pictures are below. Kids have ran in his honor, and we have a logo on our team can so James is always with us.

Thank you to James parents, Tim and Tamia, for their constant efforts to spread the word on sextortion. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. Please light a candle at 6:45pm in remembrance of James.

Shout out and congratulations to 8th grader, Troy Mazer, who competed at the MS State Championship race on Sunday. He placed 16th with a time of 12:03. He lost his shoe 800m into the race but finished strong. He finishes his MS career with the 3rd best 2 mile time and 2nd best 3k time. Troy looks to have an instant impact on the HS boys team next season.

Busy week for the cross country teams. We had our senior night dinner on Wednesday and it was a great turn out.

Thursday we had our MAC Championship meet. Both high school teams improved one spot as a team from last season and many ran great races. A special shout out to the All-League award winners.

The MS teams did well. Boys took 3rd with Troy Mazer placing 5th. Girls placed 4th with C’Niyah Ivory placing 8th.

Last weekend, the program competed at the Legends Meet.

This post will be highlighted by the middle school team, followed by the high school results.

A special shout out to the middle school girls team. Before the season, we didn’t think there would be a full team, with last years team being all 8th graders and now at the high school, and not many girls moving up from Running Rockets. We were able to gather a group of 7, with only 2 having experience running. Through injuries and sickness, we’ve had a team score in every race and they’ve continuously improved. Likewise, 3 years ago we only had 3 middle school boys. The team this year has 13 which has shown the program has grown and they will compete very well in the league.

It’s been a busy week for the cross country teams so many updates on this post. Last weekend we went to the Malone Invitational. (The times are attached in a photo) During the week we went to Field and ran against Field and Kent. (Those times are attached in a photo)

Today the program went to the Clipper Invitational in Columbiana and both of ths HS teams took the Runners-Up trophy!!

Streetsboro girls won the 1st Panther XC Invitational today! Despite some injuries still, boys took 4th, but were 7 points away from a runner up finish.

Congrats to Kendall Epple and Kaelyn Malloy on their 2nd & 3rd place individual finishes to help lead the girls to victory.
