What do I need to know now? The Sun
I wasn't expecting what I deem as "the best card in the deck" when I asked the question.
I was curious: is it a reminder that things are going to be bright and better? Or that I'm going back to my childhood to heal so I can manage my emotions better?
I was also suspicious. It's too soon to receive The Sun. I'm not worthy of its brightness, joy and radiance.
These weeks have been hectic--I even held back running "more things" (something I would do in the past to overload mu adrenaline to "feel alive"). Instead, I paused non-essential activities and focused on what was already on my small plate.
Adding on to the "busy-ness" was an unknown lethargy (Which might be attributed to Jupiter being in my 12th house of rest.) I found it hard to do meaningful things and spent most time in bed with Candy Crush.
But recently I've been anxiously shuffling my tarot deck, asking the same question again and again--something I don't recommend students do and I don't read the same question in a short time frame for clients.
Each reading was "correct" but nothing would be fixed with me just reading the cards.
I need to make the effort to be better, do better and not let the past have its grasp on me. I do want to work on it. I shall work on it.
For now, I'll accept The Sun into my life and see where it goes.

The New Moon in Pisces is coming up on Mar 3, 2022 1:34am (Singapore time).
This new moon falls in 12° Pisces. If you're not sure where it is, follow the steps in this post.
The Pisces New Moon is good for setting intentions related to compassion, spirituality, feeling "all the feels", setting boundaries (Pisces can let their boundaries be trampled all over), surrender and intuition.
It's best to set your intentions *after* the new moon so give yourself a few days to draft those intentions.
Seven of swords from Golden Botticelli tarot
I had to look up what this original artwork was about since it doesn't really match up with the sneaky 7 of Swords.
Moses is helping some ladies with water from the well after chasing way some Bad Men.
Instead of the usual "Don't get caught being sneaky" (👀 billionaires who don't pay tax), I see this card more as being on the right side of fairness and standing up for others being bullied. (And getting yourself a wife in the process.)

Queen of Cups, card of the day January 8, 2022
A look at a draft of what goes through my head when deciding what to write for a card of the day (when I'm not lazy. haha)
#1 is the textbook meaning for Queen of Cups. While it works for many situations, I find it a bit meh.
#2 Was inspired by the Queen looking at her cup so intensely. What is more interesting for me is that there's a body of water around the Queen but she's so focused on her cup.
What does that mean?
Turns out (for me), it means that the Queen is too focused on old memories and emotions that she's not trying out new things.
Then I apply it to myself: How am I too focused on the little thing that I have that I forget there's more out there?
Wheel of Fortune, January 6 2022
Out of the many Change cards in tarot, Wheel of Fortune is one of the more positive ones.
Look out for good news!
Strength from Delos Tarot
Card of the day 4 January 2022
You don't have to crush your goals, slay your day or smash through obstacles.
Sometimes you can just tame it. No need for violent analogies.

Happy 2022!
I'm choosing The Sun as my card of the year, specifically The Sun from The Modern Witch Tarot because I like the child's happy smile.
I usually describe The Sun as "the best tarot card in the deck".
With the card, I want to bring in radiance, positivity and happiness into my life.
Here are some ways you can choose a Card of The Year. (I'll have another post for this.)
1. Deliberately choosing what you want to bring in
2. Adding your birth numbers to the year 2022
3. Shuffle and pick a card
4. Lay out your cards and pick one that visually attracts you
Do you have a Card of the Year?
Ending the year with the Knight of Pentacles to let you know that you've got this.
It might not feel that you're moving forward but know that your plans are all in good hands. It's not about the speed but grit.
Queen of Swords, December 30, 2021
The Queen of Swords believes that honesty is an act of kindness.
Instead of wrapping you in bubble wrap to protect you from the cold harsh world, Queen of Swords will tell you the cold, hard truth.
You may not like it in the beginning, wishing you had a warm, mother figure instead of this ice cold person.
But you'll also see their point of view too and treasure them for telling the truth even when the world looks the other way.
The moon, card of the day 29 December 2021
The moon is one of the annoying cards to get--yes, I'm confused, tell me something I don't know.
The confusion is caused by too much noise: the tame and wild side of you (the two canines) trying to see who's loudest.
The advice for The Moon's appearance is to wait it out till it's clearer.
Sometimes we think we have to make an immediate choice but often, things can wait.
What's your relationship with goal-setting?
I like setting goals but whether I hit them or not is another matter.
2022 is here soon and it's the time when many set New Year's Resolutions or new goals.
If you’re unsure what goals to set for the long- and mid-term (3-years and 1-year goals), you can use astrology as a guide.
We can use the position of transiting Saturn and Jupiter (the planets in the cosmo now, not in your birth chart) to narrow down the topics or areas to set goals.
This also lets us take advantage of the natural astrological cycle for a boost in achieving our goals.
Let me know your goal statement! (Pick a few topics that resonate with you.)
Eight of Cups, card of the day December 28, 2021
You have to walk out of your comfort zone to find something bigger.
You've built something good but you know deep down that you can build something even better. But staying in your comfort zone now won't get you there.
Take the first step out. You can always come back.
Five of Wands, card of the day December 27, 2021
Group work takes effort from the group but it doesn't work when some members do not have the same idea about how to proceed.
Five of Wands invites us to examine what we have left unsaid in group situations, going along with the consensus but not in support of it.
Sometimes arguments can occur, sometimes the project goes on but not as smoothly because of differing ideas from the members.

Nine of Coins from , card of the day Dec 22, 2021
I really like how this Nine of Coins has a road leading from the house. This shows that the person in the card was free to walk from the house to here--their happy place.
Nine of Pentacles/Coins is about the enjoyment of material happiness alone.
The Rider-Waite-Smith version is ambiguos if the woman in the picture is happy or not. Or if she's free to walk away from the wall of grape vines.
At least for this card from Tarot For Kids, the person seems happy and the bird is also contently perched on their arm.
Today, let's explore where our happy place is. And to make the effort to visit their more frequently.

What's your definition of Strength?
Is it Superman-like powers to lift weight many times your own, or to be able to punch through walls?
Strength in tarot isn't about physical strength but inner strength or soft power--to tame a lion without using force.
The ability to influence others--whether psychologically or through charisma--is more convincing than forcing others to do your bidding.
When Strength shows up in your reading, you're asking to solve the problem through this inner strength.

Three of Cups from Before Tarot
Card of the day November 16, 2021
I'm usually someone who LOVES my alone time. But I'm reaching the threshold of my alone time that I'm even actively thinking of meeting up with people (that I don't even know!)
Three of Cups is about spending time with friends to celebrate the harvest--what has gone well.
Sometimes people are puzzled about how to read their cards of the day. It could be advice, a reflection of what's happening in the day, or just things to think about.
The artwork for this deck is really weird. The proportion for these ladies is off. Some of the men in the deck look like a devil.
The After Tarot deck is very nice though but I can't find it in my pile of cards.
