Eastern Illinois Foodbank Announces “Foodmobile” Food Giveaway in Danville, I The distribution will be held at Mark Denman Elementary School (930 Colfax St.) in Danville, Illinois on 08/03/2024 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM and is open to residents of Vermilion County. Those attending are asked to bring boxes or bags to transport food.

If you have school-aged kids, you may be able to get help buying groceries, to provide your family's budget some breathing room. Qualified families will receive $120 for each eligible child to purchase groceries when school is out this summer.

There are several opportunities to see balloons in flight over the next few days. Please remember...𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Please be kind to our pilots and volunteers - sometimes mother nature throws us curveballs. We hope that won't be the case throughout the rest of this week.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 - Early morning is when you'll catch balloons in flight - usually from 6 a.m. on each morning.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 - If weather allows, launches are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from the airport.

𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 - Glows will take place around 8:30 p.m. or shortly after pilots land and get back to the airport.

✨TETHERED RIDES ✨
Friday and Saturday you can ride in a hot air balloon at the event between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tethered Rides are $15 for Adults and $10 for youth under 10 years of age. Be sure to check it out!

This is a great safety guide for children swimming in lakes and swimming pools. The color of the bathing suit can make it easier or more difficult to see children while they are swimming. This is a good reminder to always have adult supervision when children are swimming. (Thanks to Praire Lakes Healthcare System.)

Eastern Illinois Foodbank Announces “Foodmobile” Food Giveaways in Vermilion County The distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile food pantries designed to help bring nutritious food to rural or underserved areas.
