Cleaning Camp

Band Camp 2023 is in the books!! We want to give a shoutout to Emily McCord Doman, her team and the countless volunteers who kept our tummies full!! Thank you so much to our amazing staff for working so hard for these kids! And a shoutout to the students for showing endurance, resilience and perseverance. We are off to a great start!! 💙⚡️

We are so lucky to have such an amazing band director! He has such high expectations for our students and he cares about them deeply. He does everything he can to set them up for success. He is a brilliant teacher and musician who has surrounded himself with a brilliant staff who also put kids first. Thank you for being here!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mr. Randall Brady!! We 💙 you!

Wind Symphony played beautifully this morning at State.

It was truly an honor for our Wind Symphony to play As In All Things under the direction of Mr. Paul Lemen this evening. The piece was commissioned in memory of his father. Our seniors were 9th graders when they premiered this piece at Vista Heights. We love you, Mr. Lemen. Your influence is far reaching. We are grateful to you for setting our kids off on a lifelong musical journey! 💙

We are so proud of Skyler Carter and the Lake Mountain Symphonic Band. They performed beautifully at UMEA this morning.

LOOKING BACK AT 2022 From Cindi: I’d like to share a moment that was not only my favorite moment of the whole year, but my favorite moment as a band mom, ever. This moment was validation of all of the people mentioned below made possible by each of the band students that came before. It is pure love and excitement from a crowd that cheered us on all year. It is a moment that was earned- not taken, stolen or ‘generously given’- but EARNED by the phenomenal Westlake Marching Thunder. I just want to thank the students for a year filled with EXCELLENCE! I have watched your work ethic grow. I have seen how you care for each other. I recognize your passion. You. Are. Incredible. I also want to give a shout out to the best parents ever. We had more people volunteer this year than ever before. You stepped up in ways we never expected. I am truly blessed to know you and to have worked with you this year. To the directors and staff- you are loved and appreciated more than we could ever express. Thank you for teaching our kids to be great musicians. And, more importantly, thank you for teaching them to be great people!! I see you. I see your sacrifices. I see your dedication. I love you all. To Mr. Brady- just thank you. From the bottom of my heart. THANK YOU!! I cannot wait to see what 2023 has in store.
