Those of you that are writers know that we can get inspiration from other peoples lives as well. This song is clearly about betrayal, which I haven’t experienced for a long time. I used inspiration from my past and more specifically a friends situation as inspiration for this song. It’s about the conflict we feel when we’re betrayed, and how we deal with it. This song is called Rise. For those of you that don’t know my father passed away about a month ago. He struggled with addiction for most of his life and as a result I didn’t know him growing up. When I was 30 he found my brother and I and made amends. We reconnected and I was able to really know and love my dad. This is a song about that time. I feel so blessed to have had the time I did with him, we were able to heal so much from the past. Love you Dad. Miss you❤️
