Hope everyone had fun. I know I did.
The fifth banana is now out there. Good luck 🐵✊🏽🍌If no one finds it in one hour I will leave a clue on our Instagram story

The fourth Banana is now out there. We think this one is hard. Parks can be scary at night so please don’t go alone and bring a flashlight. The brighter the better. I don’t think you phone camera will cut it.
Only three bananas left and four possible parks. Good luck and be careful. Again, it’s dark so please don’t hunt alone. It’s not going to be located in any think brush or near creeks

The second Banana is now out there. People have asked for something a little harder so……this one is at one of the listed parks - not including Native Park, where last night’s drop happened. In one hour if no one has found it, we will leave another clue on our Instagram stories
It is getting dark, you might want to bring a flashlight.

Yay! It’s Time Travel Day’s 20 year anniversary! Let’s do this. And remember if you happen to get your hands on a Time Machine come back to see us on 9/21/03 and say hi. 👋
Since it’s getting late and because there is so much possible area to search in, we are going to give a clue to the first banana drop.
This first park is one of my favorites, it was established in 1923 and dedicated in 1932. It is filled with over 175 plants that are indigenous to North Florida. It serves as a “study for Florida plant life”. The park is maintained by the Ixia Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. All the plants have tags listing their common and scientific names.
*Please be careful while in the parks and respect the plants and wildlife. Let us know when you find it so we can let everyone know. We also would love to see pictures of you with your banana 🐵✊🏽
To celebrate the 20 year anniversary we are going to give away 6 Tommy Armgdn PBR banana coolers.
Starting on 9/21 we are going to begin placing the coolers in parks in Riverside, Avondale, and Murray Hill. We will let you know when we set them out but won’t say at which park, and we won’t put more then one in a park. It can be during any hour of the day or night. They will not be placed in dangerous places like wetlands or on creek banks.
Here are some possible parks we are considering:
Fishweir
Riverside
Memorial
Boone North
Boone South
Murray Hill Four Corners

The Cavendish banana plant is a giant herb. Its ‘trunk’ is known as a pseudostem and is made from tightly packed layers of leaf-bases. Its oblong leaves are arranged spirally. It has yellow to white flowers that grow in clusters on a stem - a floral structure known as an inflorescence. Female flowers grow towards the base of the inflorescence, whilst the male flowers are located at the tip. The banana plant will create fruits without the need for pollination (parthenocarpy). Its fruits grow in bunches of 10-20 and are first green and then become yellow when fully ripe. 🍌🕵🏽♂️🔦

This is a Banana made from the now-demolished Florida Times Union building. We wanted to make one from the iconic grey panels, but they were made from linoleum as shown in one of the pictures. We found some metal scraps that were made from the lighting fixtures that I can only imagine overlooked the reporters as they spent late nights writing stories of Jacksonville.
Wow! Been at this for at least 19 years. Happy Time Travel Day 9/21/03
