As part of our Amplify project, on Friday 8th 930-1200, we invite you to a Voice & Body Percussion Workshop with Liz Ikamba!

Liz Ikamba is an experienced vocal and community music leader, with over 12 years experience working with people of varied backgrounds and abilities, using music and the Arts for social connection, well-being and education.

Workshop will include:
● Fun, interactive games and tools for collaborative in-the-moment music-making, using the voice and body percussion.
● Learning songs from around the world in different languages, including Lingala (DR Congo), Xhosa (South Africa) and French.
● The chance to perform as part of a group at the end of the workshop (as event programme allows).

All activities are designed to build confidence, encourage connection, co-creation and empowerment.

The workshop will be followed by a 30 minute performance from Liz Ikamba.

Opening up the main show after our open mic hour will be spoken word artist 💕✨️💯

ADJUA is an Alt-R&B, Latin and funk-infused singer-songwriter and producer born and bred in Splott, Cardiff. ADJUA likes to utilise the influence of her Welsh-Ghanaian heritage, showcasing her unique vocal recording and songwriting skills paired with political and soulful lyrics. With beautiful live instrumentation and harmonies, Adjua Mensah wishes to show her audience the beauty and magic of live, full-band music. ADJUA’s debut EP ‘Self’ out now.

Rightkeysonly is the one handed musician taking over the rave scene and its HEAVY bass lines.

From Green Man to BBC Introducing Wales, Keys has shown that music is a platform where anyone of any ability can feel equal, and aims to empower other diverse individuals to do the same! 💥💥💥

Chickaboo's career began in Birmingham back in 1992 where she worked with GE Real at major raves, including Fantasia, Dreamscape, and Jungle Fever. During her journey in the electronic music scene Chickaboo teamed up with notable producers such as DJ Storm and DJ Bailey.

Chickaboo quickly rose to prominence in the breakbeat scene and served as the front woman for Reggie Pilgrems band TCR Allstars, performing at various festivals and clubs including Glastonbury and Fabric. In 2006 she clinched best song award at Breakspoll alongside Rennie Pilgrem and BLIM. Chickaboo has written and recorded vocals for numerous producers, including Timo Maas, Rennie Pilgrem, Bi***es Brew, Suda (Faithless) and Superstar Deluxe. Chickaboo has toured with the Soul II Soul soundsystem, collaborated with the original Funky Dred and Jazzie B OBE as well as supporting artists such as Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, and Blondie.

"Francesca Murphy, aka Saint Bernadette, is a versatile and original vocalist, songwriter and spoken word artist from Splott, Cardiff. Starting her musical career in the late 1970s punk scene with her seminal punk band French Lettuce, she has also written and sung on the folk scene, dabbled in jazz as Sunny Hollows and the Dirty
Blues and performed live at Cheltenham Parabola and Real World Studios as part of
Rob Reed's prog-rock project Sanctuary. An active member of Ladies of Rage Cardiff, with appearances at Hub Festival, The Moon, Porters, WoW and Big Top, she was one of the artists supporting Kate Tempest at Tramshed in 2019.
Her collaborations have seen her work with electronica's Cult of Doris, hip-hop artist Unity and Cardiff D'n'B legend Missy G."

"Kaybee is a DJ and MC who got her start in the music scene through Drum n Bass MCing. When she was younger, she was inspired by American femcees such as Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Eve, Salt-N-Pepa and Missy Elliot. She returned to her love for hip hop by mixing her mum’s old records, and now DJs with both vinyl and CDJs. After playing at festivals, raves, and award shows both in and out of Cardiff, Kaybee is bringing the heat for the Ladies of Rage 5th birthday event, and will be performing a set inspired by her love for French Hip Hop, another genre that has influenced her greatly.”
