Pam and Darle's Adventures
A place where our family and friends can stay in touch with us while we are on our adventures.
Lunch with a viewš„°
Still overcast here but no down pours so far today.
Made it to Christina Ragsdale and Derrell Ragsdaleās house in Sisalā¤ļø. Itās a rainy day but donāt even care.
Another travel day for Pam and Darleās Adventures. We have had a great time in this part of Mexico, but time to move on. Headed to Merida, where we will meet up once again with Christina and Derrell Ragsdale. Then over to Sisal where we will spend a week or so on the beach with our friends. Going to be a lot of fun.
Our last day in Guadalajara consisted of a Pride Parade with literally thousands of people, then on to the Loba brewery. Gotta find breweries everywhere we go!š³ļøāšš»
Our last day in Guadalajara starts with Starbucks!
Our seats on our first tour bus ride. Headed to Tlaquepaque!
To piggy-back off Darles post, the Mercado we went toāMercado San Juan located in Guadalajara, is the largest indoor market in Latin America with an area of 430,000 sq ft. And yes, VERY overwhelming for me as well!
The museum we went to was Museo CabaƱas which was once a shelter for orphans, the elderly and the homeless. Later turned into barracks during the War of Independence and in 1980 was renovated to become a center for the Arts. The main chapelās walls and ceilings have murals painted by JosĆ© Clemente Orozco. There are many other artists on display in different rooms as well. Really enjoyed walking through it and you canāt beat the $7 price to get in (for both of us!)
Hereās some more pics Darle didnāt post.
A few photos from todayās outing in Guadalajara! We went to the largest indoor market in Mexico, maybe the world. I am not speaking for Pam, but I was just a little overwhelmed. It was crazy. Went to a museum of art. Here are a few photos. I will have to do a little more research on where and what we saw today, but it was really cool!
After dinner we went for a little walk and found this orchestra playing in the plaza. They were very good. It was fun, but we headed back to the old hotel to enjoy the a/c. We may take a tour tomorrow.
Had a great meal at La Chata restaurant! Thanks Eduardo for the recommendation! As you can see there was a line to get in. Great thing about waiting in lineā¦ they gave us a free Corona!
More photos from today. Pam may have shared some of these already, but if so, here they are again. Love the history and architecture here.
Made it to Guadalajara. Staying at the oldest hotel in the long history of Guadalajara, the FrancĆ©s, was founded in 1610 as āEl MesĆ³n de San JosĆ©ā to provide shelter for short to traveling merchants.

Itās travel day! Adios to Ajijic. We had a fantastic time in the Lake Chapala areaāhung with old friends, made new friends, played some pickleball and ate some good food! Definitely a place we would like to come back to.
Next destination is Guadalajara. Should arrive there today around 12:30 this afternoon.
Today we took a road trip up in the mountains to Mazamitla with our friends. Cute little town with a beautiful church. We shopped, ate and had a few beverages! Very nice day.
Breakfast on the balcony this morning. So nice!
May 20āHit two places today that are āmust doāsā if you come to the Ajajic MX area: Donaās Donuts and Spa Termal Tlalocan.
The Spa: there are 6 thermal tubs that we rotated to, staying about 10 minutes in each one. Between each tub you walked through a shower to rinse. We were treated with a hot tea before starting and a cold mint tea throughout the rest of the rotations.
Tub1: is infused with apple cider vinegar, to bring the body more in line with an alkaline state.
Tub2: is infused with flower petals. It smells like your sitting in a potpourri pot.
Tub3: is infused with a little sea salt.
Tub 4: had oatmeal. There was a bunch in the water and also a container of soft mushy oatmeal outside the tub for you to slather on your face.
Tub5: was infused with chocolate. š³
Tub6: before this one you cake yourself with mud. It turns to a tight, light gray clay-like body mask. It feels wonderful to have it harden on your skin in the sun, then climb into cool tub and rinse.
In addition to the tubs, there are herbal face stations, 2 hot saunas, a rock foot pressure path and a cool dip pool.
We made sure to hit every one of them and came out with the softest skin ever and incredibly relaxed!
Post #4 on the Road to Taquila
And the after party beginsā¦
After Jose Cuervo tour, hit down town Tequila. Saw the VoladoresāDance of the flyers, shopped some, then went to the oldest bar in Tequila (91 years old) to drink a BatangaāCoke, tequila and lime. Most of the pictures speak for themselves after thatšš¤Ŗ
Post #3 of Road Trip to Tequila
When in Tequila you must sample tequila, so we decided we need to do a tour and chose the Jose Cuervo Factory, which did NOT disappoint.
Post #2 of Road Trip to Tequila
We landed in the town of Tequila around lunch time and decided it best to eat before doing any tours. Our driver took us to a nice place off the main road, where we had some delicious food.
Last morning at Margaritaville! Morning coffe on the balcony! It was a fun little trip and a fun place to celebrate our 38th!
Day and night photos of Margaritaville Beach Resort, South Padre Island, Texas.
Wow! What a great way to start our 38th wedding anniversary! I think we are going to enjoy ourselves the next few days.
Although our Rangers lost today, we still had a great adventure. Hanging out at Texas Live, which is right outside the stadium. Wait for traffic to thin out a little. Listening to some live Texas Country by a cover soloist, who is actually really good. It was a lot of fun!
Pam and I Pre-gaming before the Rangers game tonight. We are excited to be going to the next two games. And this is a great place to hangout while we wait for check in time. Great food and the beer is cold!
Finally leaving port! Bye New Orleans š
A new adventure starts today! It is so freaking early. But we will be on our cruise in a few more hours! Looking forward to some relaxing and fun times!
