I teach professionals how to be more productive and build their careers through proven strategies.
Kaizen Event In process. I love starting with the Swim-lane process map for transaction processes and reverse engineering the VSM. Works like a charm. I have a video on my Youtube channel that explains how to do this…interested.
When you learn how to facilitate kaizen events, you can help any team with any issue: I was in Florida a couple of weeks ago helping create a new Decarbonization tool through Kaizen!
I was in Chicago a few weeks ago delivering some Lean training and decided to look up how far away the McCalister house from Home Alone was from me…just a cool 45 minute drive. So, a co-worker and I made the drive and it was so worth it!
That house is so iconic and represents a home that seemed almost unreal to me as a kid growing up in rural NC.
I’ve wanted to see this house since 1990! Finally able to check that one off the ‘ole bucket list at 48 years old!
It’s important to do fun activities when traveling for business….especially when you’d rather be home with the family (like me)!
On a business note: Great successful training with excited and engaging participants! Love this group of folks! .
Leading a VSM event in Puerto Rico a couple of weeks ago. Had my birthday while there. Was a bit sad not to be celebrating with the family (part of the job so no complaining here) - but the team in Fajardo knew how to make it worth while! Love their energy and support!
Another successful Shin event! My team won best sustained improvement (4 months of sustained Kaizen results). Shin is short for Shingijutsu. It’s like a super Kaizen, consisting of 4 Kaizen Events running simultaneously with a Japanese Sensei. Not for the light hearted! Tons of work in one week. Here are a few benefits:
1) Creates a culture of improvement
2) Exposes people to the tools of improvement
3) Drives improvement in key areas needing attention
4) Brings people together forming bonds
5) Yields incredible results for the business in a short period of time (just one week)
My view from the office.
Another great Kaizen Week! (I’m not pictured ‘cause I’m the photographer 😀)
