Tiger in acrylic on 50 x 70 cm canvas
This was really difficult to start with just a few pencil lines to position the eye and nose, before starting to paint. I‘ m copying a much looser painting style than I normally do, so now I might be regretting choosing to use a larger canvas!
My next oil project on A3 canvas board.
Starting to think maybe I need to work on enormous canvasses, so that I don’t run out of things to do in my 2 hour sessions. I am realising how fast I actually paint compared to others in the group.
Can you see what it is yet? The next piece work has begun.
My acrylic class project is about trees. I had a productive evening working on this one. It is coming together nicely, more branches and leaves to add next week.

My next project in oils is taking shape. It is really challenging me with the different way the paint behaves and having to paint in layers before getting into the details. I lose sight of my original sketch and can’t make the corrections as easily as I do with acrylic paint, but I do like the way it blends.
And so it begins....
The second art class of the day, using acrylics but trying to copy a looser style to my usual paintings. Enjoyed getting back into painting, maybe I will get the paints out at home again soon, it’s been too long!

Started a new art classes today. My first experience of painting in oils went well, although managed to get it in my hair. A steep learning curve but I will get the hang of it eventually.
Watercolour on A4 paper. Going to keep trying to capture the cuteness of my grandson.
