Wow!!
You guys really showed up, and I am overflowing with gratitude from the support I have received from my candle fam!
I’ll try to not be too mushy here, I know candles and wax melts aren’t all too personal… and that I’m selling a PRODUCT… but I do quite literally “pour” my heart into each candle and melt that I make. Time in my candle room melting and making feels like therapy to me. A slow down when the world feels busy… and the fact that people are willing to pay for something made with my own two hands STILL blows my dang mind! You all are great!! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
But, enough with that! It’s the weekend and I have lots of orders to process and ship so you can get your candles into YOUR hands very soon! 🐾

My current processing time is much slower at the moment as I am cleaning and reusing jars - which means I’m also pouring in smaller batches! 🥵

If it feels like I’ve been MIA, that’s because I have been 😳… and I’m sorry! It’s been a few crazy weeks here and I’ve gained many new faces to my page so I’d love to introduce myself & The Waxy Dachshund Candle Co.
My name is Shayna, the owner & maker of everything here at Waxy Dachshund!
I’m a mom to 3 humans, 2 pups, 2 cats & 30 chickens!
Hand poured in 📍Lowell, MI - a small town doing big things.
I took over this little candle company to pour my heart into each & every candle, while filling my heart with more time for my family. 🥰
Giving back to local animal shelters & rescues is something I love to do, and is a priority for Waxy Dachshund each year!
Stock shortages have hit me HARD! Between wicks, oils, boxes, and now my jars going into backorder it has been a struggle to stay consistent the past year… while it’s not easy, I certainly am not alone and I will continue to shift and do what I can to bring products to your doorstep.

As I finally sit down to type up some descriptions to add to my website, I glance at this sign on my desk. Mom boss, oh the balance within those titles.
The “boss” in me is knowing I’ve missed some online sales because it’s taken me weeks to get to the updates I need. Typing away - but with one eye on the clock knowing the bus will be dropping my kiddos off before I know it. I hate excuses so I know it’s a priority to carve out the time for my website this week.
The “mom” in me is hoping I can work quickly to be present for my kids… after their long day of being good, listening, and working hard I know that some hugs, snacks and a listening ear can make a world of difference. Conferences tonight… a chance to connect their two worlds and cheer them on for showing up even when it’s hard! Gosh, we know that feeling well by now, don’t we? 😏
We’re all balancing the boat. Floating along… some days the boat takes on water, some days we ride the tides. Every day we show up.

Our Story
The Waxy Dachshund was born in Chicago and inspired by two adorable dachshunds, Hank and Penelope. We currently operate in Lowell, Michigan and are continuing The Waxy Dachshund product line!
Each candle is hand poured by me, Shayna. I’ve always had a love for candles AND dogs... after being a long time customer to The Waxy Dachshund, I was ecstatic to take over the company and begin creating the candles myself! I’m a mom to 3 humans, 2 dogs and enjoy sharing candles with people who love them as much as I do!
All of our candles are made with a blend of soy and vegetable waxes. This allows for a cleaner, more even and longer burn. Our candles are 10.5 oz and burn for roughly 50-60 hours. We also use the maximum amount of fragrance oil possible to ensure that you get a candle you can actually smell! When purchasing a candle from us, you can rest assured that you are getting a quality hand made product that you will love!
