A great BIG thank you to the wonderful Jenna from Jenna's page for her amazing efforts for our dogs and cats of SoCares 🖤

Jenna has been quietly fundraising for SoCares, and surprised us today with her tiny little car, with Mum by her side, packed to the roof, filled with dog beds she has handmade, donations of dog and cat food and toys, and a giant bag of soft toys for the dogs.

In addition to all these wonderful donations, Jenna has also fundraised our sweet Gracie’s 🐱entire adoption fee!

Jenna, you are truly a beautiful soul, you put a smile on our faces today, and our fur residence are going to be rewarded by all your incredible efforts 🖤💛

Jenna’s story

From a young age, Jenna always had a love and adoration for all animals. She grew up with two male ginger cats, one female tabby, three guinea pigs and many fish.

In 2019, Jenna started walking dogs at Gosford Animal Care facility. Even though she was too young to go unassisted, this was something she loved to do, especially on Sunday mornings and during school holidays. This continued through 2021 until the facility was moved to Maitland.

It was during this time that Jenna thought she would collect blankets and goods needed by local animal shelters. In 2021, she assisted making 25 beds and donated those along with 50 cat toys to SoCares Erina. But this didn’t seem like a lot to her. So in 2022 she decided to make more beds with materials sourced (from her mothers fabric stash) and recycled from local community.

Then the pet bow idea arrived and luckily for her, her friends and family who were very kind and generous spread the word, which was wonderful and a great start. Her Cave Kanwal sponsored Jenna for her very first market stall and she was so grateful to Regina for the opportunity. From friends, family and the market stall, Jenna raised enough funds to fully sponsor one cat, Thunder, at Tuggerah RSPCA Care Centre Tuggerah on 1 December 2022.

100% of all funds raised from the sale of the bows are donated to our local animal care shelters and Jenna is often using her pocket money for supplies.

Currently Jenna is collecting:
• Preloved soft toys suitable for pets
• Pet food (especially cat and kitten food as there are over 60 cats and kittens at the SoCares facility alone)
• Dog and cat toys
• Donations to give to the facilities
All goods and donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off or picked up.
