Brief History:
The young Muslim couple Kagi Abdulkahar and Bai Noraisa Nul, from Cotabato City started their business more than eighteen years ago as a general merchandising store at the old Market Area of this City. They went into buy and sell of rice & supplied the whole city including later
the Mindanao region. It grown into a bigger supplier for rice to include Luzon & Visayas areas. Despite their flourishing business in rice dealership, they maintained several stores within and outside the city selling grocery items & hardware materials. In year 2010, the couple acquired the foreclosed YMCA building & lot in front of the Cotabato Regional Hospital. An initial lot area of almost a hectare was started with the renovation of the old YMCA Building into the biggest Convention Center in the city with two adjacent function halls and a Business Hotel at the basement. Two commercial buildings were constructed to house several franchised stores, restos and boutiques, as well as office of foreign NGOs like JICA, USA Aid, FSD (Swedish), Bureau of Immigration and International Monitoring Team Office. The first phase of the development was inaugurated last July 30, 2011. Being one of the biggest investments developed for the city, several incentives were given to the Alnor Group of Companies in support for their multi million peso investment. In November 28, 2012, the first ever 4 storey boutique hotel was also opened within the complex named Alnor Suites. With 41 deluxe rooms and suites, conference room, music room, penthouse units and modern facilities. To compliment the hotel, a resort pool & pavilion was also opened last May 28, 2012, the first in the city with adult & kiddie pools, resort resto and landscape garden. A mosque was also constructed in the area beside the resort. Another big development is the construction of the Mall of Alnor which started December 1, 2012. It’s a three storey mall with two cinemas, a department store, supermarket, gym and 100 stalls for retails & restos. On the drawing board are several projects namely:
Annex 1 – A three storey extension of the mall with activity center & basement parking
Annex 2 – A three storey extension of the mall with a grand ballroom & basement parking
Bldg 4 – A three storey commercial & office building
Bldg 5 – A seven storey condotel with commercial spaces
Resort Residences – A five Storey hotel with resort theme facilities. With the on-going development at the complex, this is so far the biggest commercial development by a private group in Cotabato City.
