I even added delicate embroidery to add a "lacey" type effect to complement the dress. What happened to our warm Spring weather? dog gone "false Spring" happens every year. We get several lovely warm and Spring-like days the trees get confused and start to blossom and the next thing you know it's freezing again. No worries we are nice and warm inside and the girls and I are still super excited to Welcome Spring when the time is right. But in the meantime we can certainly start preparing.

Sophie is wearing a darling outfit today with all kinds of vintage vibes. This outfit includes a darling dress done in the cutest print. It's a bit hard to tell in the pics but it's actually a print with practice cursive writing on it like we used to see in school. Super cute and very vintage. I trimmed the dress's sleeve and hem with a darling butter yellow diagonal gingham. Her pinafore is made from a gorgeous print that very much reminds me of vintage hankies all done in soft aqua. I added a few other prints at the hem to add some whimsy and also an actual vintage hankie as an apron and a vintage pale aqua wrinkled ribbon at her waist. Just wanting to do a quick little check in to say Hi and to let you know I haven't fallen of the face of the Earth. I am taking a little break from making dolly clothes, but I am still doing a bit of sewing but this time for someone much smaller. Indeed, you guessed it I am sewing for my mice! These are without a doubt the smallest clothes I have ever made and they are quite the challenge. The mice are only 6.5" tall. But, if I can sew for these little ones, I think I might be able to sew for the Little Friends with no problem. I have trimmed the little puffed sleeves as well as the hem in a beautiful dove gray and then added delicate pink velvet ribbon for a bit more luxury and then, I couldn't resist...I also added some dimensional snowflake buttons. Her pinafore is made from a vintage, super soft baby pink fine wale corduroy with embroidered snowflakes with tiny silver sequins...It's absolutely scrumptious. A very Special Christmas Custom outfit. One of my very sweet friends asked me to create a custom outfit for her Gotz doll. It started with a slip, dress and pinafore and then I was just having too much fun and got a bit carried away and made pantaloons, a Spencer jacket, bonnet and m**f to truly complete the look. I just hope she loves it.

I know a few of you get a kick out of seeing what I am doing with my mice. So, I thought I would do a quick little update to share my latest project with you. I have been busy working on a new Mouse Hospital for my little town of Cheddar Hollow. It has been so much fun collecting and making all the little things I needed to have my vision come to life and I am pretty pleased with how it all turned out. So, here are just a few pictures of what I have been up to along with making doll clothes...

I'm back!!! and anxious to get back to sewing after a nice long break of resting and playing with my mice. I have missed you all so much, but needed to take a bit of time for myself. This morning I woke up refreshed and excited about the possibilities of so many things to create. But just to get the ball rolling I decided to pull a few items from a bin of mismatched odds and ends that I had been hanging onto to see what I could come up with. A few of you said that you were interested in finding out about the other project that I had been working on prior to my sewing extravaganza for all of your girls. Some of you already know that I am a lover of all things Maileg and had been working on my various mouse projects which I truly love along with sewing. Well, my poor old body was giving me very clear signals that I needed to take a little step back from so much sewing and do something else for a bit. So, I have gone back to spending time with my mice for a while and I am loving every minute of it. I belong to a huge Maileg community and I am even co moderators of Maileg creative page here on FB. But one project that has been on my mind for quite some time is to create a place where I can journal my projects, adventures, and even share some helpful suggestions to those who may be starting their mouse house adventure. So, I have been busy creating a blog/website to chronicle all of my adventures. I had been using IG, and I will continue to do so but this gives me a lot more creative space.

My blog/website is still a work in progress but for anyone who is interested in checking it out... this is the temporary address. I will soon add my new domain to it.
